Sunod-sunod akong huminga nang malalim bago pumasok sa ballroom. When I entered, I looked around and saw the grand decorations. Halatang gathering ng mga mayayaman.

I gripped my clutch tightly as I look around to look for my team.

"Anne Lei!" I heard someone called. Lumingon-lingon ako. There, on the right side, hindi kalayuan mula sa kinatatayuan ko was Ate Mika, together with our team. Agad kong tinungo 'yon.

"Ang classy eh. Anak-mayaman ka 'no?" Ate Mika asked. I hurriedly shook my head. Nobody knows my parents own an insurance company. I guess only our HR knows about my background. I want to stay as lowkey as possible.

Nakita kong tumayo si Kuya Jeff. He offered his seat for me. Ayaw ko sanang tanggapin kasi nauna siya, but he insisted. Kaya umupo na lang ako sa inupuan niya. It was just beside Ate Mika.

"Miss Agustin?" Ma'am Vina called. Agad ko siyang nilingon and gave her a smile.

"Good evening, Ma'am Vina," I greeted. She also smiled at me.

"I'm so glad you came."

"Nakaka-guilty po hindi um-attend eh," I replied.

Waiters started to serve drinks. Nang mapadaan ang isang waiter sa table namin, Ate Mika got two glasses of wine. She gave the other one to me.

Just a glass, Lei. Just a glass.

"Thank you, Ate," I murmured as I sip from my glass.

Few moments, the program began. It was actually fun because Madam Almonte intended it to be fun. Ang fun naman kasi talaga ng personality niya eh. She's so bubbly.

Her children gave her messages. Iyong bunso niya pang anak ay kinantahan siya, which made Madam Almonte tear up. She got a beautiful family. Lalo na 'nong nag-speech ang husband niya. Ang gwapo pala talaga ni Mr. Almonte! And he's so sweet. Naka-ilang 'i love you' siya kay Madam Almonte. Nakakainggit.

Tita Aira also gave a message to Madam Almonte. Kinabahan pa ako when in the middle of her speech, she saw me and looked at me. Nginitian niya pa nga ako.

The food were also served but I don't have the appetite. I tried to eat a little, but all I could think about was leaving the venue immediately.

I was so nervous the entire time I was there. Ni hindi ko napansing nakakaanim na baso na pala ako ng wine. If I just didn't felt the heat on my face, I wouldn't realize I already drank too much.
