Bruce Part 2

You woke up to the smell of something sweet. You were immediately out of bed and going to check yourself in the mirror. Well. You didn't look that bad. You'd been expecting a lot of puffiness after the litre of tears you'd spilt, but there was only a little. You pulled a smile for yourself and cringed at the bags that made.

You washed your face with cold water hoping that it would give you a glow of at least get rid of the crying look.

You did your usual morning routine and walked out, seeing Bruce place a plate of perfect pancakes on your dining table. On the opposite side was anther perfect plate of pancakes. You took in a deep breath, a small smile coming to your lips. You couldn't wait to dig in.

"Hope you don't mind. I think you're out of eggs."

You smiled, shrugging. "I'll go get some later."

You stood in an awkward yet peaceful silence. His eyes shifted quite the bit until he cleared his throat. "Would you like to eat breakfast with me?"

You smiled. "Sure."

He even pulled the chair out for you.

After breakfast, he washed and you dried. You held the tea towel in your hands, giving the pan a good wipe over. You took small glances at him and he caught you, smiling.

"Oh, (Y/N)?" he asked.

"Yeah?"

"Please uh, don't tell anyone about the uh... The other guy... You know, the green monster thing."

You couldn't help but giggle. It was been scary yesterday, but it dawned on you that he was the opposite of scary. He'd protected you from those vile men. They were the monsters. You shuddered but were distracted by him handing you a plate. He looked at you. "Are you ok?"

You returned him a small smile. "Yeah."

Those memories were going to be hard to get rid of.

His arm went around you and you found yourself engulfed in warmth. A certain type of warmth that your body seemed so comfortable in. You sighed, hugging him back.

"Hey, Bruce?"

"Yeah?"

"You're not as scary as I thought you were."

You were left with a playful chuckle.
