Chapter 13

The employees tend to enjoy with their changed boss after the celebrity chef baked cake for his date. Praveen, the manager has often, found the employees giggling with the each other as they appreciate the new change in their beloved boss.

Adhyayan had never been arrogant and self-centered in his childhood but the unexpected turn of events in his life had surely changed him a lot turning him into a popular yet, arrogant chef who did not like people interfering in his life, be it on personal or professional front. However, the sudden entry of Anvesha in his life changed him for good. Despite, both Anvesha and Adhyayan reiterated in their lives that they were mere friends somewhere, the chemistry between them was different.

No doubts, Anvesha understood the real Adhyayan behind the mask of arrogant celebrity chef who seemed to have closed doors for everyone. On the other hand, Adhyayan seemed to be captivated by Anvesha primarily because of her amazing personality.
Adhyayan, who never found time to enjoy watching television and had simply collected all the episodes of Anvesha's talk show 'Real Heroes' that ran on 100TV channel. Coming to his restaurants every day, after supervising a bit of the work, Adhyayan used to sit in one of the secluded corners of his restaurant's kitchen and watch those episodes daily. He used to admire the emotional Anvesha who used to beautifully highlight the lives of real life heroes who had contributed for the welfare of the nation despite the circumstances of their lives.

Adhyayan was definitely driven towards the stunning face of the tall Anvesha especially her rose-petals like lips however, apart from her outer beauty, Adhyayan admired her speaking skills and quick-witted replies. He was truly mesmerized by her radiant personality, reasonable perspective and profound knowledge on every subject. He loved talking to her, listening to her fantastic outlook towards life. She was indeed, different; Adhyayan had realized.

Adhyayan Joshi was indeed a popular name in the culinary industry and hence, the successful celebrity chef did not need any inspiration. He was watching those episodes to focus on the pink rose-petals like lips which he found enticing. He loved those intriguing icy blue eyes those had myriads of emotions running into them. Adhyayan was definitely attracted on the captivating beauty of Anvesha however, he loved her determination towards her goals. He was allured by her quick-witted responses and matchless presence of mind. He had seen the real Anvesha behind the one who used to conduct the talk show. He realized her talk show had the best viewership because her emotions were not made up rather, they were natural just coming directly from her heart. No doubts, the courageous personalities that came in her show, shared a lot about themselves with Anvesha. After all, Anvesha was just like her name 'thirsty to quest her curiosity'. He had definitely been fallen in love with her mature antics but he was reluctant to show his emotions without knowing her calm raindrop.

Like any other day, the employees were working while few of them were admiring the change in their boss, mocking at him for being a love-sick puppy who used to watch her girlfriend's talk show, while Adhyayan was busy in his own world. Praveen, who was loyal employee and a sensible man who wished the best for his boss was irritated by the staff. He wondered that the celebrity chef was a bachelor living alone in Delhi and hence, he had right to do whatever he wants in his life. His employees had no right to speak ill about him.

Agitated looking at a group of cooks who were commenting about Anvesha blaming her to have trapped their popular and rich boss, Praveen made a video of their conversation trying to collect evidence against them. Frustratingly, Praveen stomped his foot on the floor attracting everyone's attention. He loved his job but a girl's dignity was more important than anything. He wondered who these people were to comment over anyone's life as long as their lives aren't affected.

Everyone looked at him startled as the manager, Praveen Sharma shouted, "What is happening here?"

Hearing the voice, Adhyayan paused the ongoing video and came out of the trance removing his headphones. Practically, Adhyayan was free for a while. He had no shoots that particular day and being a weekday the rush was not much in the restaurant. After instructing his employees, he was enjoying his me-time which was disturbed by his manager. Little did he know, Praveen was the one who was genuinely a well-wisher of his?

Had it been the previous times, Adhyayan would have been napping for a while after the tiring peak hours and this disturbance would have left him fuming. However, in the company of his sweet and calm friend, Anvesha, his raindrop, his mind's sun-like heat had subsided for good. He did not even glare at his manager surprising everyone in the kitchen.

"I want everyone to get back to work", Praveen said glaring at the group of cooks who were talking nonsense about Adhyayan and Anvesha.

Everyone looked at him surprisingly and gradually went back to work when Adhyayan asked him surprisingly in a polite tone, "What happened, Praveen?"

Praveen was indeed, taken aback for once. "I am sorry, sir", he said expecting him to shout at him but his boss enquired again politely.

Praveen said nothing but showed him the video. Adhyayan was beyond furious at the conversation his employees were having behind his back. He regretted his actions and made a mental note to keep his personal life a bit private but he wanted to teach everyone a lesson. At the same time, he felt the familiar emotion of affection for Praveen whom he had never acknowledged in past.

"Thank you, Praveen", Adhyayan said hugging him in a friendly hug. Praveen felt happy for the first time with his boss. He smiled realizing his boss was developing softer outlook towards life.

"We are good friends. They must not say anything like this", Adhyayan said to his manager as if he was talking to his friend. Having stayed away from his home for long, Adhyayan had seen people misusing him but his manager had turned out into a good friend despite wanting nothing in return because obviously Adhyayan had been an egoistic boss all these years.

"Sir, it is your personal life. You have right to enjoy your life. These people need to be taught a lesson. They must not malign someone for no reason." Praveen said a matter of fact and Adhyayan smiled looking at him admiring his views. He had never talked to his any of his employees about anything not related to work but today, he admired the young MBA graduate standing before him. Though younger than him, Praveen had a mature viewpoint.

""You are a blessing in disguise, my friend", Adhyayan said hugging Praveen again. He felt like family meeting his manager personally.

Praveen smiled mumbling, "It means a lot, sir". He was genuinely happy to know the real Adhyayan hiding inside the cold exterior of strict boss. He realized his Adhyayan sir had cocooned himself to protect himself from the cruelty of the business world. Little did he know, Adhyayan had cocooned himself from everyone because of a certain reason since six years?

Assembling each and every employee, Adhyayan instructed everyone to focus on their work because he paid them to work and not to gossip about his personal life. Reprimanding everyone and threatening them to sack them off from their jobs, Adhyayan strictly ordered everyone to get back to their work sincerely. The employees trembled like before as they understood their old cold boss was back.

Adhyayan asked Praveen to accompany him to his other restaurant in South Delhi since he needed a change of air. Praveen smiled realizing the entry of 'vlog girl' in the life of his boss has changed him for good!
