Mukhang hindi lang ako ang nagulantang sa nangyari dahil bakas din ang gulat kay River.
It looks like he was about to say something when Mr. Mendrez entered the room and immediately spotted him.
"Mr. Farillon, what are you doing there? Go back to your place," the teacher's voice thundered.
River breathed in sharply while looking fiercely at Sky. Tila labag sa loob ang naging pagtalikod niya para sundin ang sinabi ng guro. Kahit pa pabalik na siya sa pwesto niya ay panay pa rin ang litanya ni Sir Mendrez.
"Alam 'kong galing ka sa prominenteng pamilya pero hindi ibig sabihin noon ay pwede mong gawing playground ang laboratoryo." I can almost imagine River rolling his eyes. "Your father himself told us not to tolerate your misconducts,"
I, on the other hand, found myself walking near Sky with my wobbling insides. Hindi mawala sa isip ko ang nangyari kanina. Mula sa naging sagot niya kay River hanggang sa paraan ng pag-anyaya niya sakin.
His brow faintly lifted up in what it seems like satisfaction before we went on our way towards the sink. Pagkalapag pa lang niya ng mga glasswares ay may narinig akong mahinang tunog. A small beep sound. It didn't feel like it was from my pocket though. I confirmed that it was his phone when he took it out.
Mukhang tawag iyon at hindi lang basta text. He just looked briefly at the screen before he swiped something and placed it back on his pocket, though. By the looks of it, it seems like he rejected the call.
"Ba't hindi mo sinagot?" pasimpleng tanong ko at sinimulan nang i-rinse ang mga apparatus.
Lumapit siya at tumulong na rin sa sinimulan kong paghuhugas.
"It's class hours," he plainly said.
I softly nodded while my lips can't help but to curve down a little in curiosity. Sino kaya ang tumatawag sa kanya nang ganitong oras?
"It's our manager," he stated out of the blue.
My mouth unconsciously agaped at his sudden remark. To why he abruptly said that without me even asking, I don't know. But wait-- their manager? May manager na sila?
"We officially got scouted yesterday," he threw out another unexpected remark.
Tuluyan na 'kong napanganga. Hindi ko na rin napigilang bumaling sa kanya. Mukhang may idudugtong pa siya dun dahil muli siyang nagsalita.
"Sasabihin ko sana sayo pag-uwi natin kahapon pero.. mukhang pagod ka na," aniya bago umiwas ng tingin.
Napakurap ako. I suddenly remembered myself going straight to my room as soon as we got home yesterday like what I just usually do.
