Ronan woke up in a bright room. He looked down at his body and saw no bandages and no scars. He felt his face and there was not a gash.

"Where am I?" He whispered. He looked around the room and seen a bright red door. Ronan walked up to the door and examined it. He saw the many marks and weathered down wood painted poorly. He seen the golden handle and reached for it. A power surged through his body. Ronan pulled back quickly, noticing the door handle was glowing.

"What is going on.." he asked himself. He grabbed the door handle again and watched it glow, the power going through his body again. He finally turned the handle and opened the door. When he opened it, he was welcomed to a nice home. The house looked almost like a cottage, with a garden and woodland figures in it. Ronan walked toward the house and seen a porch swing. As he got closer, he heard singing.

"When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see
No I won't be afraid
Oh, I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me."
He watched a gentleman strum his guitar, singing the song to two little girls. They clapped and danced as the man kept singing. Ronan smiled at the sight.

"Beautiful ain't it?" Someone said. Ronan nodded.

"I wish I could've gotten more time with them. I regret everyday, every second I couldn't get to spend time with them. And I'm here, wasting away." The person added.

"They know you loved them. And I bet they miss you also. It's tough loosing a parent. I know from personal experience." Ronan said the the gentleman.

"I know Alistair. I know you understand." The guy said, and the sound of his name made Ronan turn to look at the man. His eyes widen and tears started to form.

"Gerald?" He said, barely able to say his name. Gerald laughed.

"Miss me boy?" He said, giving his grandson a hug. Ronan hugged back tightly.

"Where am I? What is this place?" As soon as he asked that, the room became completely white again.

"You're in the spirit world. We roam here, reliving our best memories. And the one you just seen was my favorite." He explained. Gerald started walking away, and Ronan followed him.

"But how can I be in the spirit world? Does that mean-?"

"You're dead. Yeah. You committed suicide Alistair." Gerald said coldly. Ronan flinched at the words.

"I know. I was just tired." Ronan stopped in his tracks and stared at Gerald. He sighed.

"I know young one. I don't understand but it's alright now. Keep following me. There's something I have to show you." He said, starting to walk again. Ronan followed behind his grandfather until they came to a body of water.

Ronan looked at the scene and started to cry. The lake, with the purple flowers, willow trees, and the wind blowing softly.

"This is my best memory. The day I came here with dad to have a talk with him, the time Jacie asked me to go out with her, and-" he stopped at the last part, looking down.

"Its not easy. You haven't been the same since that day. No one would be." Gerald stated.

"I just want to protect everyone. But how I do that if I feel like I'm only causing them pain?" Ronan said, looking down at his hands.

"You try harder. You were doing so well. Don't think I haven't noticed. I just keep quiet after all. What broke you?" Gerald asked.

"Vince. He just wants to torture me and the ones I care about, just to have my head on a platter. I don't even know why he wants me so badly. I am not that special." He said, getting irritated.
