"Yo, Z was spazzing on you, bro."

"I didn't know she had it in her." One of the homies spoke up as we all sat in Retta's living room, smoking weed.

"Facts."

"I think her little ass be beating this nigga, bro." Jay went on as everybody started laughing and I scoffed, blowing smoke into the air.

"Man, she ain't even like that." I shook my head, smirking as I thought back to our little segment a couple hours ago.

I'd let Z get her anger out because I knew I'd fucked up for not responding to her but she knew what it was with me. All of that shit was just talk.

The laughter died down as I sat there blowing smoke into the air. Retta and Z were both sleep now so we were all just kicking it here since it wasn't no where else to go and I didn't want to leave.

Breaking us away from our thoughts, Z's room door opened, making me look up. She stood in the crack of the door with a scarf on her head, just looking at me. I didn't say shit as she walked away from it and left it slightly cracked. I knew that meant come here so I took a few more pulls on my blunt before putting it out and standing to my feet.

Walking into her room, I closed and locked the door behind me. It was pitch black in here and I couldn't even see shit but I could feel as she grabbed my hand and guided me toward her bed.

She sat at the edge of it as she looked up at me, placing her hands on my cheeks.

"Why are you still here?" She spoke barely above a whisper.

"I don't want to leave." I told her truthfully and she leaned in to softly kiss my lips.

"Why you ain't sleep?" I went onto ask her as she rubbed her hands through my beard.

"I thought I put you to sleep?" I smirked and she sighed.

"I know but I'm restless now." She admitted and I nodded slowly, kissing her cheek.

"Can you lay down with me?" She asked and I nodded before I stood up straight.

I removed my shoes before I got in the bed next to her. When I did, she turned to me and placed her hand on my cheek before rubbing softly as we looked into each other's eyes with only the light from the moon shining into the room.

"I love you." She spoke softly to me, melting a nigga heart as she kissed my lips softly.

"I love you too." I expressed to her, snaking my arm around her waist.

"How much?" She asked, looking deeply into my eyes and I couldn't help but to smile.

Deciding I had no real answer for her, I just grabbed her hand and placed it over my heart. She smiled wide as she felt my heartbeat, keeping her hand there.

"Baby, I am who I am because of you." I started.

"You're every reason for my success, you're every reason I stay motivated."

"Without you, I wouldn't be me." I expressed to her and I watched as she poked her lips out.

"Shut up." She whined and I couldn't help but to chuckle.

"Im serious, baby."

"I know I made you doubt me for years now but I promise you, I'm gon' do everything I can to earn your trust again. And this time I'll cherish it more because I know what it's like to not have it at all."

"And I don't ever want to go back to this."

"You hear me?" I asked as tears slowly rolled down her face and she nodded.

"And your tears, baby.." I sighed deeply.

"I don't ever want to see you have to cry again because of something I did. I want every tear you shed for me to be happy tears."

"I can't hurt you no more, Z. If I hurt you now, I'm hurting me."

"You're my heart, ma." I expressed to her, placing my hand over hers that was still placed over my heart.

I watched as she processed all of my words while she laid there, looking into my eyes. I knew it'd been a long road for us and I was just ready to right all of my wrongs with the love of my life. I knew words wouldn't get me far but I planned to show actions.

She deserved the world so I was going to give it to her.
