Melissa's PoV:

Seeing the obnoxious creatures at distance was enough to freak the hell out of me. They were more skilful than I thought they were. How could they make it through the dark that fast? As if to answer my question, the Philosopher's stone in one of the Homoculi's hand shimmered.

Bloody shit! They used the stone as a torch!

I rushed in, to alert others but everyone was already vigilant. The clones hissed wildly as they battered in. There were just two. But it seemed like a troop ambushing us. I looked at Bharathi who nodded at me and we both ran towards the unconscious Sorcerer Mages. The stone had drained them completely. They seem suddenly old and feeble. Bharathi and I dragged both Mr Blake and Mr Anand to one corner while the boys along with Mr Conner and Mr Jaden blocked the two evil clones.

There went a hustle between humans and the non-human brutes while I told Bharathi to stay back and help the Sorcerer Mages. I ran towards the mess of struggles to give them a helping hand. I wasn't a scrapper or fighter. But a third hand wasn't all useless. Burgundy, one of the two Homoculi, flew above and escaped the blows while the boys struggled to defend themselves from his occasional blows.

I looked at the old men. Though Mr Jaden's double-soul, Sangria was weak after the de-surrection, he was still a handful for the two old men. They couldn't work up against him. I paused for a moment to decide. That was when something else clicked.

Where's Crimson? I was sure that I saw him outside. But only two entered in. Where should he be gone? Within a split second, I decided to go after the lost Homoculi.

"Mel," I heard Austin as I was about to cross them. He had just managed to give Burgundy a severe blow. Not enough to knock him down perfectly but to get him off balance. "Take care of him." Austin pointed to Burgundy as he rushed out. Probably, to terminate his Double-soul all by himself.

That's not safe... Before I could pronounce a word, he was gone. I started after him when there came a blow following a ferocious scrape from behind and I fell to the ground. I turned swiftly to see that vile creature, Burgundy, flying away towards Josh as he'd hit him. I couldn't stand any faster or run for Josh's recovery. My lower neck ached like the devil. I pressed it and realized my hood was torn and to the worse, was moisturous. His wolverine clawed fingers were sharper that a single scrape demanded a little bloodshed.

Knocking Josh down, he turned towards me again. He gave a final note with a disgusting hiss. I dragged myself backwards while he inched forward like an actual villain. I hadn't known the clones would imitate humans to this extent. He was about to jump over me. I swallowed hard in fear.

But to my surprise, he hissed and backed. I peeped to see Bharathi dragging him by his wings. I knew not how I thought witty at that very moment. I, pushing aside all the weary pangs and dreary fears, raised a little and kicked in the small of the gut he had.
