I was waiting in the pit until everyone came along. Uriah, Renée, Priya, Dex, Landon and Arielle crowded around the front with me.
Dex tossed us some bottles.
"To the future!" He cheered, holding his drink up.
"To the future!" We chanted.
Everyone was in high spirits, and happy. That is until the leaders came in. Then, a sudden hush fell around the room and everyone went quiet.
Max walked in infront of the board, and revealed the screen.
"Welcome, new members of DAUNTLESS!" He shouted, as everyone scanned their names to see if they made it or not. A couple of people cheered, and some started crying loudly.
I looked at the board, and there was my name in 3rd place. Tris was first, Edward was second and I was third. Peter came fourth and Arielle came 10th. Uriah was 5th, Renée came right after and Priya was 6th.
"FLINT." Peter shouted. "Bet you and the stiff just cheated your way up the board." Molly and her friends started laughing loudly.
I started laughing too as Landon stared at me. "Oh please, you're just jealous."
Landon smiled at me appreciatively as Tris came over.
"Congrats!"
