Stephen sat there. Still on one knee, holding a beautiful diamond ring in his hand. Every eye in the resort set upon the two of them.

"Will you marry me?"

Peggy thought for a moment. This was a life time commitment. She had to make the right choice.

"Yes." Or not.

Everyone in the restaurant started clapping as the two embraced each other in a kiss. They were just so happy. (I might kill Peggy myself if none of you do so.)
When the waiter came back, they both enjoyed their chocolate cake and Stephen took her to a few other places.

Laurens had no idea that his ex girlfriend was engaged right about now. It didn't even cross his mind. I mean they hadn't even been dating for a whole year yet, why would he be worried about that?
The thing he was really concerned with was the fact that his father was out of prison, and if so, why he hadn't heard it from anyone else but Brooke Paisley channel 27 news.

After dinner, Laurens just ran up to his room. He needed some time to think and to process exactly what happened. This was a little too much to take in at once. He would have to go over it from the beginning.

"My father left me." He began, writing this all down in his notebook. "I went to foster care. I met the Washingtons, they had two other sons. My father comes back for me, and goes to prison for the first time after almost killing me." He paused for a moment trying to catch a breath. "I go back to Washingtons. They adopt me. My father escapes prison and kidnaps me. I spend the next week in a weird old building before going back to the Washingtons and my father goes back to prison." He paused for another moment to make sure he got everything so far. "Yeah. Then he asks me and Alexander to visit him in prison and I find out he has bipolar disorder. Now he is out of prison on parole due to medication. I think that covers it."

He reread it a few times just to make sure. But it was all there. Jeez, and all that happened in the course of a year. He actually didn't have too much trouble with his father the last year, but who knows what will happen now. (😈😏😈😏)

"Laurens? Are you sure you're ok?" Alexander came in.

"I have no idea." Laurens admitted. "I'm still trying to understand what has happened over the past two years." He started. "I mean, I was sixteen, going to a new school that was way too expensive for me. The only reason my foster parents let me go is because the school day was longer and that was more time that they didn't have to deal with me." He stopped for a second. "Then I met you guys and my life has just been a great big blur of chaos. And I feel bad for bringing it on you. Now my father is somehow out of prison, and I can't really process why."

"16? I thought you were 17." Alexander asked.

"I had a birthday that no one remembered but Washington. Not even myself." Laurens added.

"Right. But don't think we haven't enjoyed your 'chaos'. My life was not nearly as exciting before. I mainly just got into fights and actually ran away once, but that's besides the point." Alexander continued. "We like having you here. You're an.... interesting guy?"

"Wow. Thank you." Laurens rolled his eyes. "But seriously, thanks."

"Don't sweat it."

Stephen walked Peggy home that night. He wanted to be there when she told her father and sisters they were going to get married. Her father liked him though, so he didn't worry about anything. He knew he would give his blessing, he was a good dad like that.

"Daddy?" Peggy began. Her two sisters and her father looking up at her as they sat down on the couch. She was standing in the middle of the room so everyone could see her, Stephen at her side. "We're getting married!"

Philip's face was ecstatic. He was very happy for his youngest daughter, but still a little weirded out by the fact that two of his daughters were, or were going to be married before the age of 20. Eh, the things you do for love.

"That's great Peg!" He jumped up and gave his daughter a hug. "If you ever hurt her I will hurt you." He whispered to Stephen.

"Yes sure. I mean no sir. I mean I won't hurt her." Stephen laughed.

Eliza and Angelica were all giddy and jumped up to be by their sister's, and future brother-in-law's sides.

"So, let's talk wedding." Eliza smirked.

"Yes, you are my maid of honor Eliza." Peggy smiled. "But maybe we could tell people before we start planning?"

"Or.... we could do both at the same time?" Eliza suggested. She loved weddings, and since she never really had her own, she wanted to be apart of her sister's.

"Fine. But give us a minute will you?" Peggy laughed.

Eliza and Angelica left the room for a moment. Eliza stayed close to the door the eavesdrop though.

"Peggy, as my youngest daughter you know that I care very much for you. But if you're happy with this man, I can be nothing but happy for you." Philip said.

"Thank you Daddy. I really am glad to have your blessing." Peggy smiled and hugged her father.

"Now, let's do talk about arrangements." Philip continued. "Do you want to have the wedding here or at a banquet hall, or at a church?"

"Wow um, I've never really put too much thought into it." Peggy replied.

"That's ok, I'm sure we will be able to figure it out. It will be perfect." Stephen gave her a kiss. "I will make sure that you and I are happy for the rest of our days."

A/N: *sigh*, Peggy? We need to have a talk. You have done wrong child. You have done wrong.
