Kinza removed a stick note from her purse, wrote something for Aahil, and stuck it on the wardrobe. She took her diaries and a few more belongings of hers and kept them in her bag. She wanted to meet Hayat before leaving, but she didn't want anyone to know what happened between her and Aahil. She gave one final look to the house, and all the memories came back in a flash. All those giggles, arguments, scoldings, celebrations echoed in her ears.

The last time she left this house, Aahil requested her to stay and never leave, but she knew she would never come back. This time she knew it too. The only difference was that Aahil had asked her to leave but, she didn't want to go. But, she was helpless.

She sat in her cab and left for the airport.

Aahil stopped his car with a jerk and looked at his watch. He felt as if Kinza was calling him. He took a U-turn and went back home as fast as he could. When Aahil reached, Kinza had already gone; however, they were two sticky notes on the wardrobe.

The first one read -

I'll cherish you forever like that first perfect picture of mine, but then I couldn't keep it because I knew I wasn't that beautiful. Take care of yourself, Aahil, and if you ever want to come back, know that you should trust me completely and let me know what you have been doing these days.

The second one read-

Please tell me how much money you gave to Rizwan maamu (uncle). I will try to repay that money.

Aahil opened the wardrobe, confused, and saw that KInza's diaries weren't there. He realized that she didn't just go, but she left him alone and that she has parted her ways with him. Aahil cried hard for letting Kinza go, but he thought it was because of Ali. He was mad at her; he expected her to fight and stay with him and never leave but thought maybe he was made for this.

He hated it when Kinza didn't say anything, but he didn't understand that Kinza was too hurt to say anything. Aahil didn't know what was waiting ahead for their relationship. A divorce, maybe? Or maybe not...

He went on the bed and hugged his pillow, trying to feel Kinza but ended up crying again. He hit his fist on the wall behind the bed and murmured, "I hope you stay happy wherever you are."

Kinza reached New York and went to the same river she went eight years ago when she thought she had lost everything in her life and had to decide for herself all alone. As the river water flowed, Kinza's tears fell. She wondered why Aahil read her diary. He wasn't that kind of a person who wouldn't respect anyone's privacy. Thousands of questions ran into her mind, and she thought that Aahil did this so that he could get rid of her.

Kinza's life had taken a significant turn in a few weeks, and she didn't know what to do. The last time she came to New York, and this time, she came to New York for the same reason yet very different situations.

'San Diego to New York. San Francisco to New york...I was right; I don't deserve happily ever after,' said Kinza to herself.

Aahil woke up with a massive head and, he realized he had missed Fajr. He saw four missed calls from Kayan but didn't have the energy to talk. He heard Kayan climbing up the stairs like every family member can when one of their family members starts to walk down the stairs or climb them up just by its sound. Kayan knocked twice and then entered inside.

"You okay? You didn't come to lunch today. I didn't wake you up because you might have come after Fajr from the airport, but it seems like you don't want to get down, missing your wife too much," winked Kayan.

"No, I just have a little body pain," said Aahil.

"Pray Zuhr and call Kinza. She has already reached New York," said Kayan, and Aahil nodded.

"I will go to the office tomorrow," said Aahil.

"Shhh! You go to Kinza; she needs you. I will handle all the meetings, and I will be going to the office from tomorrow," said Kayan and kept his hand on Aahil's.

"But, bhai.."

"Aahil, why is your body so warm. You have a fever?" asked Kayan.

"No, bhai. I am fine," restated Aahil.

"I am calling the doctor right now," Kayan enjoined.

"Bhai...arey bhai sune toh" (Brother, at least listen to me)

But Kayan didn't hear a word and left the room. After a while, the doctor entered and gave Aahil some medicines and injections too.

"Do not take a lot of stress, Mr.Malik," whispered the doctor in Aahil's ears.

"Ooo bhai kya masla hai? (What's the matter?) asked Hayat, giving Aahil a glass of juice.

"Nothing," said Aahil, avoiding her.

"Aahil, your BP is low. What is bothering you? Are you missing her too much?" asked Hayat.

"No bhabhi (sister-in-law) I am fine. How is she, and how is Rizwan Mamu?" asked Aahil, concerned.

"Mmmm, Kinza is just fine. She didn't sound fine because the doctors said that he has only a few weeks left," informed Hayat, dejected.

"May Allah make it easy for them. How did Kinza react to it?" asked Aahil.

"Aameen to your dua (prayer) Umm...Kinza is dealing with it because she says she has no option, but she is disturbed. She loves her uncle a lot," said Hayat.

"Oh, even after what he did?" asked Aahil.

"Aahil, what he did was because money and greed took over him, but he wasn't a bad man. He has helped Kinza a lot financially as well as emotionally. He loved her, but shaitaan took him astray, so forget what happened because he doesn't have a lot of time left," replied Hayat.

"I can't forget her face when her uncle betrayed her," exclaimed Aahil.

"You haven't seen the real hurt Kinza...9-10 years back, oof!" said Hayat.

"Bhabhi, do you think Kinza will ever cheat on me?" asked Aahil.

"Never, I am sure of it," said Hayat.

"How are you sure of it?" asked Aahil, raising his eyebrows.

"Because anyone hurt in the same manner, wouldn't dare to betray anyone else. But why are you asking this?" asked Hayat.

"Yeah, I..."

"Hayat, Isam is crying. I guess he needs milk," said Kayan holding crying Isam in his hand. Hayat rushed towards him, saying Aahil, "I will talk to you later."

Aahil sat back on the bed and looked here and there. He looked towards his balcony and felt as if Kinza stood there, gazing towards him and smiling. He got up and prayed, ignoring all his thoughts and asking for guidance from Allah.

Both Kinza and Aahil missed each other terribly. They thought that their partner's happiness was without them and didn't try to clear their misunderstandings. They cried in sujood for similar reasons but never lost their trust in Allah and knew that this was a test from Allah, and indeed Allah is the best of all planners.
