After Carmelita gave Royce the necessary swim-wear for both him and Ashloy (Ashla disliked the idea of swimming,) so Royce brought his daughter to an isolated area free of any potential hazards, including the wildlife.

When Royce brought her (Ashloy) to the isolated area, she was so afraid of the water that she clung onto her father's back.

Royce: "Ashloy, you have to trust me. I won't let you drown or go under, trust me." He tells Ashloy as she begins to loosen her grip on the 21-year-old before actually attempting to swim. "See... I knew you had it in you, Ashloy." And before Royce knew it, Ashloy was swimming and with no effort too.
