-----------Annabeth's POV
"Percy?" My voice comes out as a whisper.
"Annabeth, it's not what-"
"No, I can tell when I'm not wanted." my voice cracks at the end of the of the sentence. I turn on my heel and walk away before he can make another excuse. My feet fly down the stairs and through the living room, so fast that I trip and almost run into someone.
I stand face to face, or face to chest, with a super tall guy.
"Uh, sorry." I try to walk away, but he grabs my wrist.
"Leaving so soon?" He asks with a smirk.
"Um yeah, I have to go." I pull my hand out of his grasp and keep running in the direction of the door, frantically wiping tears from my cheeks.
By the time I find my truck, I can barely see, and I'm partially drunk. Great combo for safe driving.
I craw into the driver's seat, bawling my eyes out. I'm sure the little bit of mascara I had on has smeared all over my face. At the moment, I don't care.
There's a loud tap on my window. I look out to see guess who? Percy Jackson. My sadness quickly turns to rage.
I open the door, and he steps back right before it would've hit him.
Damn him and his quick reflexes.
"Annabeth!" He exclaims. "I can explain, I promise! Just let me talk."
I glare at him, which he apparently takes as an okay. He grabs my hand, and I jerk it out of his grasp.
"I was drunk! It was a dare, I'm sorry!"
"How could you suddenly stop being drunk?!!"
"I.. I don't know."
I roll my eyes.
"Seriously, Jackson?"
"Hey, if you would've came, we could've avoided this." he says, and then slaps a hand over his mouth, realizing it was the wrong thing to say.
"Really? You're gonna play that card?!?" I shout. "You know this isn't my fault!"
A crowd is starting to form, including everyone from the truth or dare game.
Rachel moves to stand by his side.
"Maybe it is, Annabeth! You know what, you're always so freakin uptight all the time, I like having a little fun!"
He yells.
Rachel smirks. "It's not the first time."
My jaw drops.
"You know what Perceus, maybe it IS my fault. For ever trusting you." my voice is back to a whisper.
"Like I said, bad decision." he smirks.
I stare at him in shock.
I glance around and see Piper standing next to me, a guilty look on her face.
"You knew?" I ask.
She hesitates a little.
"Everyone did. I mean you are super uptight, and stressed. All the time."
Everyone nods or mutters in agreement. I stumble backwards, feeling like I was just stabbed in the heart. I fumble for the door handle of my truck, get in, and slam the door. the crowd parts as I drive down the road.
When I get to the highway, I step on the gas. All my anger has faded. Now I only feel loneliness and betrayal. All my old thoughts flood back, filled with sadness and insecurity, which leaves me with one option. I scroll through my contacts and call someone I said long ago I would never talk to again.
I let out a sob, muffled by my hand.
