-----Annabeth's POV

The alarm clock blares in my ear. I slowly get up and turn it off, walking over to my drawers and pulling out my outfit for the day- light wash jeans, combat boots, and a nirvana tshirt. Then I pulled my hair into a messy topknot, leaving some curls out to frame my face.

I ran down the stairs and ate a piece of toast, humming a random song. The smile wouldn't leave my face, no matter what i did. Eh, whatever.

Susan wasn't home, so I didn't have to worry about all that drama.

---------Percy's POV

When I got to the bus stop, I saw Annabeth literally skipping down the sidewalk, with a giant grin on her face.

"Looks like someone's in a good mood today." I smirk.

"Hey, not my fault."

I thought she would actually be upset, after yesterday, but I don't want to remind her, so I didn't mention it.

"It's not a bad thing," I reply. We sit down on the curb, and she starts talking about something, architecture, I think, but I just watch her lips as she talks, and then look at her eyes. Stormy grey, with a little more light in them than usual.

I wonder if this sudden happiness has something to do with the kiss.

Nah, probably not. It's just a coincidence.

--------Annabeth's POV

I watched his eyes as I talked, and noticed that they were focused somewhere below my eyes. I followed his gaze and realized he was staring at my lips.

I could feel a blush creeping up my cheeks.

"So basically Rome has the best architecture in the world. I mean, there's the-" he cut me off.

"Annabeth, can I kiss you?" He asked bluntly.

I just sat there blushing like crazy, before nodding my head the slightest bit. As soon as he saw the nod, he pulled me to him and pressed his lips against mine. I put my arms around his neck and trailed my fingers up into his hair. His one of his hands was on my waist, and the other was placed carefully on my chin, lifting my mouth to meet his.

We broke apart when a horn honked, and I looked up to see the bus driver glaring at us from behind the windshield. I'm pretty sure I looked exactly like a tomato, but Percy smiled at the guy like they were best friends, and then took my hand and pulled me into a seat at the back of the bus.
