Mia-
"I cant do this. No. I cant do this. She's early."
My neck snaps to my father who is mumbling the same phrase over and over again. Uncle Luke had run over to my mother, screaming for my father as he did so.
"Dad, Come on." I grabbed his hand, attempting to pull him up but he was quick to yank me back down.
"Dad." I grabbed his face with both my hands. "This is no different than when you had me. It's gonna be ok."
His eyes stayed trained on mine. His expression slowly softens but the worry stayed wavering across his face. He lifts his hands to cover my own that are holding his head steady.
"Mia, I don't know. We weren't supposed to have them yet. I-i." He begins to mumble off, not really having a direction for his statement.
"Get up." I take my hands of his face, standing up to hover over him. "Come on Dad."
I extend my hand to him, forcefully pulling him up before looking back over to my mother seeing the expression of worry washed over her face.
My head snaps back at my father when I feel a weight pull down on my hand, slowly lifting himself up to meet me.
"I can do this." He mumbled, not sounding very convinced.
"You can do this." I stated, lifting his head lightly before finally absorbing the situation.
"Shit Crystal!" He finally realized that his best friend was taking care of his very stressed wife.
His hand disconnected from my own, running past everyone to my mother who was standing up, leaning against Uncle Ash. He leaned down whispering and planting a kiss onto her belly.
"You ready?" Sometimes he says the dumbest things.
"No, I don't really think I'm ready to push two people out of me right this moment but they are." My mother always had a snippy attitude when she was stressed out and my fathers comment didn't exactly help.
My father looked back at me nervously. I smiled in attempt of calming him down, slowly making my way over to them, treading carefully in fear of getting my head ripped off by my mother.
"Where's the grab bag?" I asked to my mother because I knew my father had genuinely no clue.
"It's at the house." She looks petrified now. "Shit! It's at our house!" She stumbled backward, placing both of her hands behind her on the couch in attempt of stabilizing. My father stumbled with her, quickly placing himself against her back.
"It's ok, I'll stop and get it before I meet you guys there. Ok?"
My mother was quick to agree as she wanted out of this hectic house asap, but my father was wavering in the idea. He didn't think he could this without his whole family.
"Mia just come with us. We can have one of the boys get it." He motioned to Uncle Ash, who quickly nodded his head and reached for his keys.
"No, no I got it. It's 5 minutes away. I'll grab it and meet you guys there. I'll even bring the kids with me." I motioned to the two boys who looked uneasy over the whole situation which caused me to roll my eyes but force a smile back at my father.
My father sighed, leaning into my shoulder so his words wouldn't be heard by the crowd of people around us.
"Please, your my rock, I cant do this with you." He voice was weak, barely inaudible.
"Dad. I love you. I won't be more than 5-10 minutes behind you. I'll be there the whole time." I pulled my hands around his body, engulfing his shaking body in a hug. "These are your boys. Meet them confidently."
