The Babies

PART 3

-ALEX KAREVS POV-

I roll the baby back to the NICU. I walk in and see Jackson sitting there asleep with the baby on his chest still. I pick up the fragile little girl and hold her the way I was before. skin to skin. I ended up falling asleep with her in my arms

"Dr. Karev. Dr. Avery!" I wake up to see dr Bailey standing there. Jackson slowly wakes up "did you boys stay here all night with them" she ask "yea we must've fell asleep" Jackson said. "well you boys go home and get some rest. ill see you tomorrow morning" dr Bailey says "but-" I try to say "no buts Karev go" she demands as I place the baby back in her bed "how's y/n" Jackson ask "still nothing" Bailey says as she wraps the two babies in blankets. "now get out Jackson! you to Alex! I dont wanna see you for the rest of the night till your next shift!" she demands and scoots us out the NICU

we walk out and into the locker room we both change and head to the car "hey ill meet you out there in a second I gotta check on something" I say I walk into y/ns room to see her lying in the bed still unresponsive I check her charts and she's stable and everything seems to be doing good she's just not awake. I close the chart and walk to the nurses desk "hey, if anything happens with y/n l/n make sure to page me. if she codes. wakes up. dies. I would like to know. page me immediately" I said "sure thing doctor" the nurse says as I walk out of the hospital to get in the car with Jackson as we go home

I get out of the shower. I dry off and put a blue shirt on and some pants. I decide to sleep since we arent eating till later. I get under the covers and fall asleep.

I wake up to laughing. I check the time 4pm. I slept so late. I crawl out of bed and walk out of my bedroom door and go to the bathroom I open the door and see April in the shower with Jackson. I immediately shut the door "woah" I say through the door
I walked down the stairs and see Meredith and Lexi laughing in the kitchen "what you cooking" I asked sitting on the barstool at the island "chicken" lexi says. "did you know that April and Jackson are fucking in the shower?" I laugh "where's Derek" I then say "he should be on the way home soon. where were you and Jackson last night" Meredith asks. I get up and walk off. I go to see if April and Jackson are out of the shower. I go and use the bathroom and brush my teeth and then I go back downstairs and sit where I was "you know I'll continue to bother you about it till you answer me" Meredith looks at me and smiles. the front door open and I turn around and see Derek and mark walk in "it smells good in here" mark said lexi and Meredith smile at them. Derek comes to the kitchen and gives Meredith a kiss on the cheek "I want what you guys have" I say "you want to sleep with your boss. find out hes married, they get a divorce and then date other people then finally get back together" she laughs "no I just wanna be happy" I frown "you'll find someone one day" lexi says. mark kisses her and sits beside me. I fake gag "you guys disgust me with your love and kissing and eww" I say "but you just said you wish you had what we had" Derek says "I know what I said Derek. but its not gonna happen so until then you guys disgust me" I see Jackson and April walk down the stairs "espically fuck buddies over here" I laugh. Jackson chuckles and April looks at me like she's pissed 

"thats not funny Alex I didnt make fun of you when you and Jackson sat at the hospital all night with the babies" she laughs "APRIL YOU WERNT SUPPOSED TO SAY" I said looking mad "I knew it" Meredith said looking at me. lexi hands her 20 dollars "you bet on me" I laughed "nooooo not at all" lexi said as Meredith shoves the money in her pocket. we set the table and sit down. we pass the food around I get a bit of everything "so Alex have you thought of a specialty"Derek asked as he ate a bite of food "nope. not yet" "I think you should go with peds" he says "what about you Jackson" he ask "I think im gonna go with plastics" "thats my boy" mark said 

we continue eating. 

a pager went off. 

everyone pulled out there pagers I looked at mine "911, y/n" I said getting up from the table and gabbing my jacket and rushing to the car without hearing a word that anyone said. I rush to the hospital and run in I run to her room.
