HELL's POV
"So, what do you think I should give her for Christmas?"
"Let's see... Ano pa bang 'di mo naibibigay sa kaniya?" Vincent looks up and thinks for a moment. "Hmmm... alam ko na! Your body! Give her the d-"
I kicked him from below the table before he could even finish the d.
"Nagbibiro lang naman ako dude e. Gagalet agad," the bastard says, wiping crocodile tears.
"What's with you and your need to joke around when someone's asking you a serious question?" I asked him, irritated. "Do you always need some beating up before acting like a decent human being?"
He straightened his back and adjusted his seating. "Sabi ko nga, magtitino na nga po."
He paused for a while, then looked at me seriously. Without his usual devilish grin. "Ruth loves immaterial things. Hindi, more like, she's uncomfortable receiving expensive stuff? So... give her- something 'inexpensive but precious' I guess?"
A pause. From my side. This time.
"Something inexpensive but precious?" I asked. "Like what?"
"Like... memories," he said. "Or time."
"Why not give her a Christmas she'll never forget?"
The moment he said that, a missing cog had been placed. A system inside me that was at a stand-still started working like magic. Ideas began pouring in.
"Dude, wala man lang thank you?" the bastard said. I was so absorbed in my thoughts I didn't even realize I was already about to enter my room.
"Order pizza," I told him. "It's on me."
He almost leapt out of his seat because of sheer happiness. "The best ka talaga, dude! I love you!"
I entered the room without saying anything back.
I don't understand him. It's not like he can't buy pizza? Heck he can buy a whole pizza place with the amount of dirty money he has on his stash. So why is he so happy whenever I buy something for him? I really don't get him.
