Yokohama has a few names to live up to.

Yokohama; gangster paradise, a port city known to house the most notorious illegal criminal organizations.

One of them being an ability based criminal organization known as Port Mafia.

And the other name, a title known to a group of people similar yet different from ability users.

Yokohama land of curses, or in the perspective of Jujutsu sorcerers, the Lost Paradise.

Jujutsu sorcerers have existed for thousands of years— even longer than when ability users came to be known.

Like abilities, the root of how long people have been able to use jujutsu is unknown. Even how or why it originated was unknown.

If the jujutsu existed way longer, why and how did Yokohama become the Lost Paradise it is known today?

Well, simply speaking it's because of the Port Mafia.

Because one, it's the entire plot.

On a more serious note though, it all happened years ago when the mafia was first established.

The Port Mafia— like all organizations (may it be illegal or legal) started out small.

A small criminal organization lead by a group of powerful ability and non-ability users.

The boss was a wealthy man. Slowly yet consistently spreading his influence.

Add to the fact that he is an ability user, making him even more powerful than he already is.

However, like any other person, to keep pushing on— everyone had to be a slave to something.

Everyone had to be drunk on something.

The first boss— was drunk on power.

He had it all, and yet he wanted more.

More influence.

More power.

More... More... More... MORE!

He had it all. All except...

...
..
....
....
......

He could see monsters. Everywhere.

Deformed mutants hiding in the alleys or following after humans alike.

Some were stronger than the other.

And yet no matter what he did, he couldn't defeat them. And he's the only one who could see them.

Small creatures with beady eyes snicker whenever he crossed the sidewalk.

Medium sized humanoids, grunt as he took away lives on secluded areas, as he and his men barter with other underground organizations.

He watched as large and powerful ones slaughter— eat and kill majority of his men.

Yet he couldn't do anything about it.

Until one day, he saw. A small group men and women alike came and go.

Two men and three women all came and killed the monsters that haunt him in his sleep.

Needless to say he was astonished.

Before they left— he revealed himself to the group, asking why and how they killed those monsters— and how he's the only one who could see them.

The boss learned that those monsters were called curses and he also discovered that in order to defeat those curses, he must have cursed energy that he can manipulate into a technique  or have an weapon imbused with cursed energy itself.
