In which, Yaga tells Dazai and Chuuya about Yukiko's first times.

First Word:

"It happened out of the Blue honestly." Yaga chuckles as the couple intently listens to him.

The couple visited the school while their daughter was unfortunately on a mission in Hokkaido with her classmates, to kill some time before returning to Yokohama, Yaga offered to tell them various short stories from when he raised Yukiko.

"You see, my cursed technique lets me transfer my energy to dolls."

"Strangely enough, Yukiko's first word was chicken."

It happened when Yaga was knitting another one of his cursed dolls at home.  And Yukiko as playing with the various toys he got for her.

The small brunette suddenly crawled towards Yaga and made granny hands, indirectly asking him to carry her.

Complying, Yaga lifted the one year old and cooed at her cuteness. Making Yukiko scrunch her nose and point at the doll Yaga was making.

"Chiiiiiickweeeeen" she said slowly.

"Chicken!" She repeated clapping seemingly proud of herself.

This made Yaga smile, the girl's first word, and its chicken! Chicken!

Yukiko's first haircut

Tradition in some countries says, you ask a person to cut their baby's hair if you want the baby to get particular traits from that person.

For example, Aeri was asked by her neighbor to cut their daughter's hair, claiming that they want her to inherit Aeri's intelligence and creativity.

Afterwards, Aeri keeps and puts the strand of hair inside of a dictionary as part of the tradition.

Yaga was a traditional man, per say. Thus he asked a friend of his— who was a renowned lawyer — to cut even a strand of baby Yukiko's hair.

As he recalled correctly, Yaga tells Dazai and Chuuya that his friend kept the strand inside of an English dictionary.

Yukiko's first teeth.

Kids love candy and the belief of a tooth fairy collecting the teeth and exchanging them with a 5 Yen coin was something common to the children.

Of course as a kid, Yukiko believed that as well, using that belief as a strong rebuttal for a particular debate topic she had in the future.

"Yagwa-shan lookwk mAh tweeth!" A five year old Yukiko snickered as she held up a fortunately clean piece of her tooth.

"Hmmm" Yaga hummed, kneeling down to her height. "If you put it under your bed when you sleep tonight, the tooth fairy will give you five Yen."

"The twooth fairy downt hafto." Yukiko grinned showing a noticeable gap. "I want ice cweam from Yaga-san!"
