Her hope was dead. She could feel the life slowly leaving her body the longer she spent in that room. The longer they extracted her blood and injected her with other liquids. Venus was certain the slashes across her stomach had become infected at that point and the exhaustion had taken over to the point where she couldn't even move her eyes. Her tear ducts had dried days ago, her veins still burned and her throat had completely dried.

Her gaze was rested on the ceiling over her watching the lights flicker and feeling the walls around her shake. Something was happening but her body and her mind were too tired to think. Too tired to try to escape. Too tired. Her eyes had rolled into the back of her head and she herself wasn't sure whether she was falling asleep, passing out from the exhaustion or finally simply dying.

Venus knew her time was almost up. If someone didn't find her soon, she'd probably spend an eternity rotting away down here if the Doctors didn't kill her first.

"Venus!" she thought she heard Stiles, but there was no way he was down here. No way he had found her. She had heard footsteps cross through here before and no one ever came for her. His voice kept calling out to her and her eyes had squeezed tighter, thinking her time had finally come.

Then the door beside her flew open. Her body convulsed on instinct, thinking it was the Dread Doctors but then his hazel eyes came into view, his skin coming into contact with her own. Venus flinches away from his touch, her head shaking with what little energy she had left.

"This isn't real." her voice comes out in a whimper. "You're not here. Wake up, Vee. Wake up."

Stiles swore he could feel his heart break in his chest as he watched her. He didn't know what she had been through down here but he knew there was no way it could be anything good. His fingers gently brush the hair away from her face, taking notice of how her vibrant blue eyes now looked sullen and dull.

"We're getting you out of here, okay?" he speaks gently not wanting to trigger her. Stiles' hands move to her chest restraint first, relieving her of the pressure then her hands and legs. Her body hadn't moved in days save for her neck so it didn't come as a surprise when she collapsed into him when he helped her up.

Venus turned her body slightly, looking as if she had seen a ghost, which is what this felt like for her. She had dreamed of Stiles and her family too often to think this was real. But it was. Her palm was on his cheek, she could feel the warmth spreading between their skin and she let out a sob.

Isaac turned his head away from the door and towards them. "Is she okay?"

"I don't think so. We need to go."

The stomping of boots had halted their movements and cause the three of them to take cautious steps away from the doors.

"You have to leave." Venus croaks, her hand trying to slip away from Stiles' hold but he wouldn't let her. "Leave me or they'll kill you both."

"I'm not leaving you." Stiles argues, his tone firm. "Not when I finally have you back. We're all getting out of here."

Isaac couldn't help his naturally pessimistic ways as the door starts to move and the Doctors make their way into the room. "You got a plan for that, genius? Because these claws aren't gonna do much damage."

"You won't need one." a fourth voice came from the hallway, a voice that Venus would recognize anywhere. The cocking of a gun echoed around them followed by the firing of multiple bullets. Stiles wraps himself around Venus, shielding her the debris and guiding her closer to the door as Alex pushed the Doctors away.

Venus would've cried right then if she could, seeing her family again had given her the will to hold on just a little longer. Her dad and Alina were firing continuous rounds of bullets onto the Doctors, trying to clear a path for the teens to get through. It wasn't doing much damage but it was pushing them back which was more than enough for now.
