Pansy Parkinson

I looked at the note I was holding again. Hermione had slipped it in my pocket in the great hall.

Meet me by the lake at 11. I want to show you something
- Hermione

Obviously I showed up 10 minutes early. I was nervous. It's weird. I have a crush on Hermione, and we're soulmates. I want to be with her, but it seems so... forced...? And it does feel right to hold her hand. I feels amazing not to hate her, but there's this expectation that we're gonna be together for the rest of our lives. That means I can't fuck this up. I sat down in the grass and watched the water. I wondered what it would look like in color. It would probably be pretty. I heard somewhere that nature is beautiful in the spring. I sighed and checked my watch. 10:52. I groaned and let myself fall backwards. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the wind blowing over me.

"You're early."

I quickly sat up and looked behind me. Hermione was walking towards me with her hands in her pockets. I smiled faintly. "What did you want to show me?" I asked as Hermione stopped next to me. She nodded me to follow her and started walking away. I got up and followed her. We walked together in silence until we reached the forest. Hermione turned to me. "Are you okay with going into the forest?" She asked. I raised an eyebrow but nodded. "What are we going to be doing in there?" I asked. Hermione started walking again. "You'll see." She said in a way that left a smile on my face. I had to speed up to catch up with her. We walked silently beside each other for 10 minutes. "Where are we goinggg." I then whined. Hermione chuckled. "Don't worry, we're almost there." She said. I sighed and continued walking after her.

Hermione stopped walking. "Close your eyes." She said. I raised an eyebrow but did what she asked me to. I felt sparks as Hermione's soft and warm hand took mine. A strange feeling appeared in my stomach. She lead me forward, mumbling apologies when I almost tripped over something. I grinned. "Alright alright. We're here." Hermione finally said. "So can I open my eyes now?" I asked. Hermione laughed. "Yes." She said. The light burned my eyes when I opened them, but when they got used to the light again my mouth fell open. There was a lake with a waterfall. In the forbidden forest. How haven't the students found this yet. The colors were astounding. I couldn't even describe it. Next to the lake was a picnic laid out.

"I thought we could maybe have our.. first date? Or at least something to get to know each other better." Hermione explained. I turned to her, still astounded. "I know everything is going really fast and it's really confusing. I just want to start over. No expectations whatsoever." Hermione continued. "And you can definitely just leave if you don't want to." She quickly added. "No! No. This looks lovely." I said, looking back at the scenery around us. Everything was beautiful. The trees, the sky, definitely the water... I smiled to myself. "The colors are going to take some getting used to." Hermione muttered. I chuckled and nodded. "Come on." Hermione said as she started dragging me to the picnic.
