How dare you

I watch how Kai comfortably breaks the egg and cooked it in the frying pan in my kitchen. It’s been almost six hours since he came crying to me last night, I sit silently on my kitchen table and wait for him to notice me

“Oh you’re awake, I’m sorry I mess with your things and cooked, I woke up hungry so… “ he scratched his nape “Sorry” and bow his head

I awkwardly nod, not accustomed seeing him being this apologetic, he’s been saying sorry since last night and I lost count how many times he said that word. 

“It’s  okay Kai..”

He lifts his head and smiled “Thank you babe” and immediately put the egg and bacon in two plates and served it in my table, then he seated and started to eat.

I drank the water and also started to ate, I began to feel guilty for not pushing him away last night as I scroll in my phone and saw several missed calls coming from Lisa since yesterday, I cough the water suddenly, the memory is still fresh and I can still feel his lips, I hated myself for letting him kiss me - it disgusts me

“What’s wrong? Are you okay?” he asked concern

“No I’m fine” 

He just nod and continued to eat, while I busied myself reading Lisa’s unread messages

Why are you not answering all of my call?

Are you okay?

“Jennie?” Kai suddenly talk

“Yeah?”

“Can I stay here for a while?”

I left reading my phone and look up to him, giving him a confuse look.

“Why?”

“I don’t want to go home yet…”

“Kai, your mom needs you, I think it’s time for you to go home after we finish this breakfast”

“I don’t want to see her yet, I feel guilty and I still can’t accept that dad is already gone…”

I sighed “You want to prove to your dad you’re a good son right? You said that to me last night”

“I did”

“Then go home and face him, your mom also needs you Kai, you really have to go home”

He bits his lips and heave a breath, “All right, I’ll go home after this”

He finish the breakfast while I did the dishes, he was already in his phone after I finish the plates. He ended it once he saw me

“I called mom I stayed the night here in your place, I’m going home”

“That’s good. Take care of yourself Kai”

He suddenly pulled me into a hug, not giving me enough time to respond and push him away again “Once again thank you, for comforting me and hearing me out , I really need to vent out”

“You’re welcome, you can let go of me now Kai, I can’t breathe’ I excused

But he didn’t do what I said, instead he grips me even tighter in his embrace and my arms made his way to his shoulders, pushing him, he didn’t even budge and continued hugging me until we heard my door banged and suddenly clicked open, then he let go of me.

“Lisa..” he said stern

My eyes widened and hurriedly turn around, only to see Lisa in my back, eyeing both me and Kai. Her last stares went into me and to my phone in my hand.
