Chapter 1

The beginning

Smell of fuel, the high pitch sound produced by tires screeching, the fall of shattered glass, smell of my own blood all over my body and across the driver’s seat, my own clothes soaked with the color  of deep red

I took a deep heavy long breath

Where am I?

What happened?

I open my eyes, adjusting my vision to the light and the darkness combined, seeing my own hands gripping tight the steering wheel of my car, I started to tremendously shake, seeing red thick blood running down from the circular thing

“Hel-p” I tried to yelp for help "Help!"

My voice seem to weakened each time I tried to scream, the tightness of the seatbelt was trapping my whole body that I can’t move each time I tried to pull away

I started to panic and to feel scared, finding myself alone and trap inside my car with no one else around here somewhere to help me. I started to cry,  I didn’t waste any seconds to scream again for help, hoping someone out there will see and help me, that someone will hear my cry  before I will run out of breath

“Help, someone please help me!”

“Help!” I cried, still no one was there

I was still alone in the dark

“Jennie wake up, baby you're dreaming, wake up”

“Help me!”

“Baby!” I sit up straight, gasping for air and feeling someone’s warmth and embrace. I held my temple with my both hands once my head started aching in familiar pain

“Are you okay?” someone held my chin, then tilting my head from right to left, checking my face. “Is your head aching again? What did you dream again this time baby?”

I looked at the person seating beside my bed, with white plain shirt and old skinny jeans, eyes were brown and sincere with thick long eyelashes, a small horizontal scar carved in the upper part of her right cheek,  reddish plump lips, soft soothing voice and brown hair

Who is she again?

“Lisa?” I tried to recall her name, I remember calling her Lisa yesterday, last week, the last month and – the rest I don’t know, I don’t remember

She smiled and tucks some of my hair behind my ear, then wiped my sweats rolling down my head using her handkerchief.  “Yes baby I am Lisa, how’s your head? Is it still aching? Do you want me to call the doctor?"

I massage my head “No, it's not aching anymore”

"Are you sure?"

I nod "Yes Lisa, don't worry"

“Alright that’s good to hear,  what did you dream again this night?” she leaned close and captured my hand, I just let her and fall my chin on her shoulder blade, resting and playing with her soft fingers

“I was in a car and blood was all over me, I was alone in the dark with no one out there to help me”

A slight ting of pain hits my head, I close my eyes in return and furrowed my brows, it was always like this whenever I tried to recall something in my past or recall the happenings in my dream, I believed it was the fragments of my lost past.

“Okay baby stop now, don’t try to recall any of it, it will eventually come back to you right? You will remember everything, I promise you that” she kissed my temple.
