[4:30am]

(Jo has just woken up)

(She yawns before her phone rings)

Jo: hey Mer?

Mer: hey... are you coming in today?

Jo: yeah.

(She chuckles)

Jo: why wouldn't I be?

Mer: um.... Can I come over?

Jo: right now?

Mer: yeah?

Jo: yeah. Of course. What's up?

Mer: I need to talk to you about something.

Jo: can we just talk about it at the hospital I have a C-section in an hour and some inductions tod-

Mer: no. Carina can take those from you. She said she would. I really need to talk to you.

Jo: Meredith your scaring me. What's wrong?

Mer: I'm leaving in a little while. I'll see you in thirty minutes.

Jo: ok-

(Meredith hangs up)

(Jo takes a quick shower and gets dressed)

(By the time she gets dressed it's been twenty minutes)

(She unlocks the door and goes into the bathroom to start blow drying her hair)

(A few minutes later there is a know at the door)

Jo: It's Open!

(She yells)

(The door opens and Meredith walks in)

(She throws her purse on the couch and walks over to the bathroom)

(She knocks on the open door)

(Jo looks at mer through the mirror)

Jo: Mer what's wrong?

(She says in a worried voice while still blow drying her hair)

(Meredith doesn't say anything)

(Jo turns around and looks at her)

(Meredith has a scared look on her face)

Jo: Mer!? What the hell is wrong?!

(She shuts off the blow dryer)

Mer: come here.

Jo: Mer, your really freaking me out just tell m- oh my god!

Mer: what?

(Jo whispers)

Jo: are you pregnant?...

Mer: WHAT!? NO!

Jo: god! You scared me!

Mer: why would I be pregnant!?

Jo: aren't you with Hayes now?

Mer: yeah, but that's not the point.

Jo: okay?

(She laughs) she

Jo: so what is it?

Mer: So um...

Jo: just spit it out mer, I really do need to get to work. Moms won't wait on me to give birth.
