(Mental Facility)

(11:30 AM)

(Alex is walking through the garden with his mom)

Helen: What time is it sweetheart?

Alex: It's 11:30 mom. It's Tuesday.

Helen: Baby! You've gotta go to school. You're gonna be late.

(She says in a worried tone)

Alex: Don't worry, I'll handle it.

(He chuckles)

(She looks at him)

Helen: My sweetest boy...

(She smiles and puts her hand on his cheek)

Helen: Well, buddy, I don't want to keep you. You should get going now.

Alex: Are you sure?

Helen: yes baby. Go have fun.

Alex: Okay. I'll see you tomorrow mom. Promise.

Helen: Sounds amazing.

(She hugs him)

Helen: I love you Aaron.

Alex: Mom. It's me. It's Alex. Not Amber

Helen: Sorry?

Alex: Nevermind...

(He smiles and shakes his head)

Alex: I'll be back tomorrow mom.

Helen: Alright baby. I'll see you then.

Alex: Mhm.

(He walks into the facility and to the front desk)

Alex: Hey Lisa.

Lisa: Leaving already?

Alex: Yeah. She told me to go. She thinks I have class soon. Can't keep telling her she's sick.

(The worker laughs)

Lisa: Sounds like Helen.

Girl: Hey. I have class soon too. I have to go as well.

Lisa: Nice try Jo. Better luck next time. It's June.

(Alex looks over and sees a young girl standing at the desk in sweat pants, slippers, and a cropped hoodie)

(He looks at her confused and then at Lisa)

Jo: Oh. I'm Jo. These people won't let me leave.

Lisa: You are a patient here. And haven't been discharged yet Jo.

Jo: I'm literally fine Lisa!

Lisa: Hey. It's Miss. Miller to patients.

(She jokes)

(Alex looks at Jo)

Alex: Oh... Are you okay? Sorry. Not really my business.

Jo: Yeah... I just tried to, ya know, um.

(She mumbles under her breath)

Jo: Kill... Myself...

(She goes back to talking normally)

Jo: Like three months ago.

Alex: Oh. I'm sorry.

Lisa: Last week. Last week Jo. Not three months ago.

(Jo drops her head and stares at Lisa)

Jo: I've only been here a week!?

(Lisa chuckles)
