3 November 1976

7:32 am

Ophelia woke up to a heavy weight being dropped onto her chest. She bolted up in her bed and laughed when she realized that Marlene had thrown herself on top of her.

"Happy Birthday Fia! You're a whole sixteen years old now!" she exclaimed.

"Thanks, Mar," she laughed. "Now would you mind getting off of me?"

"Only because it's your birthday."

"Happy Birthday, Ophelia," smiled Lily as she came around to hug her best friend.

"Thanks, Lil."

Ophelia stood up, only to be tackled into a hug by Alice, "Happy Birthday, old woman!"

"Thanks," Ophelia playfully rolled her eyes but laughed nonetheless.

The four girls got dressed into their school robes, freshened up for the day, and headed downstairs to the great hall.

As soon as the girls entered the great hall, they were ushered over to the Gryffindor table by their friends, and only seconds after Ophelia had sat down, the marauders (minus Sirius) all burst out into the happy birthday song.

Ophelia hid her face in her hands, trying unsuccessfully to stifle the laughter escaping her lips. A blush crept up her face as she looked around the room. A few people from other tables had joined in the singing, and just about everyone in the great hall was watching the marauders sing to an embarrassed Ophelia and amused Sirius.

She looked up at the staff table, and to her surprise, found Professor Dumbledore singing along merrily with the few students. After the song had finished, Dumbledore silenced the room and spoke.

"That was a very lovely rendition of a joyous song. My felicitations to Mr and Miss Black on turning, sixteen is it? However, this is a school and I'm sure you all have classes to get to."

Doing just as he said, the students eating breakfast began to shuffle out of the great hall, annoyed that they had to go to their classes.

Potions was the Gryffindors' first class of the day, where they, unfortunately, shared it with the Slytherins.

They walked into the classroom and sat down at their assigned desks, shared with partners. Ophelia was lucky, she got to be partners with Marlene.

Professor Slughorn greeted the students and explained the instructions for the potion that they would be brewing. After a lecture, he left the students to brew the potion on their own.

Marlene and Ophelia were just finishing their dreamless sleep potion when they heard a snarky voice coming from the table next to theirs.

"A little birdie told me it was your birthday, Black. In fact, the little birdie told the entirety of Hogwarts at breakfast today."

Ophelia and Marlene spun around to see who had spoken, and both girls rolled their eyes when they saw who it was.

"Piss off, Mulciber," groaned Ophelia, not in the mood to argue.

"I would wish you a happy birthday, but we both know that would just be an outright lie."

"Don't test me," Ophelia said.

"Or what? You wouldn't do anything with old Sluggy watching, would you?"

"Oh yeah? Try me."

Mulciber just laughed, but it immediately and rapidly increased when Ophelia pointed her wand and said, "Titillando."
