"Be quiet or someone will hear us."

"Prongs, you're the only one under the cloak, I really don't think you need it since we're everyone else is visible."

"Dissendium!"

The statue of the one eyed witch moved and revealed a secret passageway, to which five students climbed through and began their journey down to Hogsmeade.

"Moony, carry me," whined Sirius when they were close to exiting.

"As if, fatso."

"You wound me, Moons. Right here," Sirius placed his hand on the right side of his chest.

"That's the wrong side, dumbass," Peter snickered as Sirius moved his hand and repeated his sentence.

The five students quietly sneaked up out of the Honeydukes cellar, through the store, and into the cold, empty street of Hogsmeade. It was rather late at night, so it was dark out with the exception of the few shops that were still open having their lights shine out into the night.

They made their way to the Hogs Head Inn, a pub where they knew they wouldn't get caught. If worse comes to worst, Ophelia could use Alphard as an excuse with Aberforth.

It was much past curfew and a school night, so they really didn't want to get caught, but they decided to have a few drinks of firewhiskey since Peter said he was feeling especially depressed that night.

They entered the almost empty pub while James and Sirius went to get drinks. They came back carrying five large jugs of firewhiskey, sat down at a table, and started drinking. Peter drank half of it in one swig, to "drown out his sorrows."

"What sorrows, Petey?" asked James.

"None really, but they're there. Or they were at least. I'm much better now that I'm getting alcohol into my system."

"Just wait a few minutes and you'll be golden."

James and Sirius quickly drank theirs as well, Remus and Ophelia both choosing to drink a bit less. They didn't want to get drunk, in contrast to the other boys, but they decided to get tipsy enough to have fun.

As they were drinking, a large group of people came into the pub, mainly older men. They sat down and started drinking, just as the five teenagers were doing. Within just fifteen minutes, both groups were starting to get a bit rowdy and obnoxious, at least to the other people in the pub.

By thirty minutes, one of the older men demanded that Aberforth turn on some music so they could truly have a "pub party," and henceforth how the Hobgoblins started playing.

"I love Stubby Boardman!" James shouted, getting an aggressive, agreeing nod from Sirius.

Peter found his best friend and the two of them were dancing together, Peter much drunker than Remus. Remus, as planned, was just a bit tipsy, and was sure to make fun of Peter and the rest of the marauders the next day.

"The name's Ritchie," said one of the older men, coming up and making conversation with Ophelia.

"Ophelia," she said politely.

"Can I offer you a drink?" he asked, slurring his words a bit.

"Oh, no thank y-"

"Aberforth, get a Blishen's for the pretty lady," he shouted at the bartender. Ritchie went to get it from him and handed it to Ophelia.

"Thank you," she said, not daring to take a drink from it.

Ritchie kept eyeing her up and down and had an intimidating smirk on his face. He used his hands when he talked, spilling a lot of his drink on the floor. He gradually moved closer to her as they talked, Ophelia trying to be dry to get out of the conversation, but every time she made to move, Ritchie would start talking again and put his hand out to stop her from leaving.

Suddenly, Ritchie placed his hand roughly on her waist. Ophelia tried to slide it off, to no avail.

"Please don't-" she started, but was caught off guard when he slid his hand further down to her butt. "Get off of me."

"Now you listen to me, girl," said Ritchie. Ophelia immediately got flashbacks to Grimmauld Place, remembering that phrase that Orion so often said. "You want this. Once we get started, you'll be begging for more. Trust me, I'm probably bigger than your face."

Remus saw the panicked look on Ophelia's face and saw her trying to wiggle her way out of a man's grip on her ass. As soon as he realized what was going on, he marched over to the pair.

"Hey asshole!" he shouted. "Get your hands off my girl."

"Oh please, she's enjoying it."

"She is right here, and I most certainly am not," Ophelia shoved him back.

"Didn't mummy ever tell you to keep your hands to yourself?" Remus snarled, towering over the man.

"Didn't mummy ever tell you to stay out of other people's business?" Ritchie shot back. Remus cocked his head and slowly walked over to him. Maintaining eye contact, he punched Ritchie right in the jaw. Ritchie stumbled backward a few steps but composed himself and started striding towards Remus.

A lady from the older group came up before he could do anything, grabbing his face and kissing him harshly. "Everything alright, sweetie?" she asked, hand still on his face, and flaunting her wedding ring towards Ophelia, giving the younger girl a dirty look.

"Just fine, hun."

Ophelia grabbed Remus' hand that had not been used to punch Ritchie and started leading him towards the bathroom.

"Ophelia, what are we-"

"Shut up, I'm taking you to the restroom to clean up your hand."

They got into the single person bathroom and Ophelia hopped up on the sink counter, grabbing her wand in one hand and Remus' hand in the other. There was a bit of blood on his knuckles from the impact. She slid his rings off and placed them gently on the counter. She murmured a few spells cleaning up the blood and restoring the skin. Throughout this, Remus watched Ophelia, mesmerized at how easily and unwavering she was. He seemed to be trying to memorize every little detail of her face and didn't realize when she was done. Ophelia looked at him after she finished putting his rings back on him and smirked when she realized he was staring.

"Like what you see, Moonboy?"

Remus snapped out of his daze and realized she was done. Ophelia went to hop down from the counter, and although it was only a couple of feet of a jump, she still had a decent amount of firewhiskey in her system.

She stumbled a little bit, straying a few feet away from the sink and near the opposite wall of the room. Remus quickly acted on instinct and pinned her against the wall to keep her from falling.

They were inches away from each other, both slightly out of breath. Ophelia kept flickering her gaze between his two eyes but made the deep mistake of accidentally glancing at his lips. She wasn't able to tear her gaze away from them, making her blush a bit, and Remus noticed where she was looking.

"Do I make you nervous, Black?" he smirked, watching her cheeks grow a light pink, failing to unpin her from against the wall.

"Why? Do you want me to be nervous?"

"That depends, are you?"

"You're pathetic, you know that?" Ophelia tried her best to stay calm, not letting him get to her. She was almost positive that Remus could hear her heartbeat with how harshly it was pounding against her chest.

Kiss him, you fool, she kept telling herself, but she couldn't get the nerve to do it.

Just kiss her, he said in his mind, but he couldn't get himself to do it.

Their insecurities kept them apart, but the ever growing force of magnetism wouldn't stop pulling them together until they felt the desperation to do it on their own. But for now, they must play the waiting game, willing themselves to act on their impulses and do what the other has wished them to do for so long.
