the times they are changin'

Kara had decided not to watch the rest of the competition, all she heard from her friends were that one of the Elite members had made it onto the team which didn't enlighten her one bit.

Having the Elite members on the Next Step would ruin their chances of winning Nationals, she was sure of it. They were going to ruin the team dynamic they had going on.

Kara made her way down to Hidalgos once she got a text from Emily, telling her to meet her there. She was confused at first, she thought that Emily was still mad at her.

She stood in the doorway once she got there, seeing Emily sat on the long table in the middle, looking down at some kind of book; she knew what it was straight away.

"Hey." Kara faintly greeted as she walked over slowly.

"Kara, hey." Emily smiled, looking up from her group. "Come here, sit."

"Sure." Kara nodded, taking the seat opposite her. "So, why did you want me to meet you here? Are you not still mad at me?"

"Well, with a lot of nagging from Riley, it led me to think about the whole situation and how it went down and I realised that you had my best interest at heart."

"That's what I've been trying to tell you the whole time." Kara grinned. "So, do you forgive me?"

"How couldn't I? You're my bestfriend." Emily exclaimed and flashed a full teeth smile. "And now that you're my bestfriend again, I've got to ask.. how are you?"

"I'm fine, I'm fine." Kara nodded.

"Kara." Emily trailed off, giving her a pointed look that caused her to roll her eyes.

"Fine. I mean, everything's just changing so fast. And it's so weird not having James in A-troupe." Kara said. "Seriously, though. I do really miss you in A-troupe. Everyone does."

"I miss me in A-troupe, too." Emily smiled.

"Anyways, enough of that. I've gotta go, I need to see what's happening with the auditions and whose made it in." Kara informed Emily. "I'll see you later?"

"Definitely." Emily nodded.

Kara walked into the studio to see Daniel performing his solo. She walked over to where Noah was and sat down beside him.

"Hey." Kara smiled. "What have I missed?"

"Well, Jen and Chloe went against each other. Chloe won and then Thalia and Nick went against each other and obviously Thalia won. And then Tess and Amanda-"

"Wait, Tess and Amanda? I can imagine the tension there." Kara scoffed.

"Yeah, it was crazy. Amanda won though, thankfully. Imagine having Tess on the team?" Noah said.

"Yeah, that would be a nightmare." They both laughed.

"You're all caught up now, it's Daniel against Giselle, the last battle." Noah told her.

Kara looked over to see that Giselle was in the middle of her dance, she knew that she was going to do amazing, it was Giselle.

Everyone cheered as Giselle hit her tricks every time she did them. No one had seen her dance as well as she was right now. "Go, Giselle!"

She stopped in front of Daniel, looking him in the eyes, intimidating him. Many of the next step dancers laughed at her actions as they watched the two make their way to the middle to finally decide who the last member on the internationals team was.

"Okay, there's one spot left on the Internationals team." Kate called out. "Whose it gonna be?"

Everyone immediately raised their hands and pointed over to the ginger girl stood in the middle, a smile overtook her face instantly. "Giselle!"

Daniel walked up to Giselle and shook her hand, smiling. "I did what I had to do."

"And so did I." Giselle nodded.

Everyone on the winning side started to cheer as Giselle walked over.

"That means the competition is over." Kate stated, turning to Lucien.

Lucien rolled his eyes at Kate before storming out of the studio without saying anything else, he knew his plan had failed.

"This is officially the International's team!" Kate yelled to the dancers.

Everyone began to cheer and hug each other, even the Elite dancers joined in, surprising some members of The Next Step.

Even though they were glad the competition was over, they had lost some incredible Next Steppers.

"One, two, three, Internationals."
