A small body crashed into mine and I picked up the young boy. I looked back at the older boy and wrapped my arms around him with the younger boy on my hip.

"I thought I'd never see you again," I said shakily.

"Me neither, Ror." I pulled away from the boy and looked at the child on my hip.

"God, you've gotten big Theo," I said, smiling at the boy.

"He was two before the apocalypse started. Now he's five," the older boy explained.

"Is Will here, Matthew?" I asked with tears in my eyes.

"Yeah, he's here," Matthew nodded.

"Rori, who is this?" Carl's voice broke my eye contact with Matthew.

"Sorry, guys, this is Matthew and Theo, Will's older and younger brother."

"This place is nice, Deanna," I said to the woman in charge.

"It is. We've built a strong community," Deanna agreed. "Do you mind if I film our conversation?"

"Not all," I said, taking a seat on one of the couches. Deanna took a seat on another couch, across from me.

"We've never considered taking anyone in before. Your group is one of the firsts," Deanna said, looking at me with a small smile.

"Good. We all need this," I said.

"Why?"

"I used to be weak and a cry baby. I see now that we don't get to be afraid. We don't have time to cry. There's always danger around the corner. No matter where you are. No matter how safe it seems. We need this now. We need a place where we can breathe, even if it's just for a moment," I said.

"This place is safe," Deanna said.

"That's what everyone thinks. Our group, we're strong. We've survived this apocalypse with a baby. A baby who needs a place to grow up." I stared at Deanna, my eyes searching her face.

"She's a cute baby. I can tell your group could be a great benefit to this community. To Alexandria," Deanna said. I gave her a small smile.

"They're still your guns. You can check them out whenever you go beyond the wall but inside here, we store them for safety," Denise explained. I unwillingly set my gun on the cart. As soon as everyone had their guns placed on the cart, Denise started to pull it away. "Should've brought another bin."

It had only been a few hours but Aaron had shown us where our homes would be. Rick, and everyone else, decided that for now, we were just going to stay in one house.
