(Suffocate)
Kanina pa ako nagpapakawala ng buntong-hininga matapos ang mainit na usapan namin ni Graziella kanina. Nagbigay na lamang ako nang hilahin ako paalis ni Valter roon. Lumipat kami sa kabilang side kung saan malayo kami doon sa dalawa. Hindi naman naalis ang titig sa amin ni Clade at Graziella habang paalis kami roon.
"You promised not to make a scene," ani Valter sa aking tabi.
"I didn't. I composed myself until the end. She was the one who's gonna make a scandal here." Depensa ko.
"It's the same thing, Ariadne. You let your emotions get the best of you." Parang magulang na pangaral niya.
I sighed. "I'm sorry. I didn't expect myself to be calm until the end, anyway."
"So, what now? Are you satisfied with your confrontation with her?"
Hindi ako makatingin sa kanya. My eyes are wandering around these masked people. Some are even eyeing us. Patapos pa lamang ang programa sa harapan.
"Are you really gonna sue them for concubinage? Make them suffer?" He continued.
"Maybe, Valter. For now, my mind is still in haywire. I couldn't think straight. I came here for my kids, but I don't think this is still about my kids. It's about myself too. I can't accept the fact that she will just get my husband without an effort."
"Look, Ariadne. This is what she wants. She made sure that their appearance here is publicized so that you will hear about it. The goal is to destroy you." Seryosong saad niya.
Napatingin ako sa kanya. "Publicize? But the media had no idea who Clade was. He didn't remove his mask."
"Yes. But they already had an idea about their affair prior to this event, right? Graziella purposely attended here with him and even with my brother's mask on, people will still conclude about his identity. Can't you see it? She's playing this game."

Kumunot ang noo ko. Hindi ko na napigilan alisin ang aking maskara. Ngunit nanatili namang nakasuot ang kanya.
"Fix our family's mess? What do you mean by that, Valter? Do you know something that I don't? And how exactly are you gonna fix our mess?"
Kita ko ang saglit niyang pagkakatigil na tila may nasabing hindi dapat. Nagpakawala siya ng buntong-hininga at bahagyang nag-iwas ng tingin sa akin.
"I'm sorry, Ariadne. I can't tell you. And you cannot make me tell you no matter what you do."
