"That's what happened..." mahinang usal ni Valter habang nakaiwas pa rin ang tingin nila ni Clade sa isa't isa.
"So... you've been watching me all these years?" Wala sa sariling sambit ni Clade. Hirap pa rin siyang i-proseso ang katotohanang iyon. Buong buhay ay dinala niya sa kanyang puso ang ideya ng paghihiganti para sa kanyang pamilya... at kasama sa mga ipinaghihiganti niya noon si Valter. Ang malaman ang kabilang parte ng katotohanan na ito ay halos nakakawala ng huwisyo.
Napatango si Valter kahit na hindi ito nakatingin sa kanya. "I've been doing that, at the same time, building connections in Russia and the surrounding countries behind the name Aed, which means-"
"Fire, right? It is of Irish origin."
Nagkatinginan sila. Muling tumango si Valter.
"I was able to confirm your identity with that name, you know? It literally means fire, and fire... means a big thing to you. It's your fear."
Pagak na natawa si Valter. "It's amazing how you know my fear when we haven't been together not until recently, hmm? Well, if you think about it, it is just natural that I will fear the one thing that almost killed every bit of me when I was young."
"I think we're really connected in a strange way..." dagdag ni Clade. "Like a mystical connection. We both survived miraculously, saved by our second dads and even if we were apart for so long, that bond was never really severed, was it?"
"I think so, too." Sang-ayon ni Valter. "Even just by watching you from afar, I can already tell what you're feeling and thinking."
"But... if not only for Stefan's jealousy, we could've led a better and happier life. Won't we?" Hatid ng tingin ni Clade ang isang patay na pag-asa na mababalik pa ang nakaraan at tahakin ang mas magandang landas.
Upang iwasang makita ng kapatid ang pagbakas ng lungkot sa kanyang mukha, nagbaba ng tingin si Valter. Sang-ayon siya sa sinabi ni Clade. Ang lahat ng ito ay nag-umpisa kay Stefan at sa lahat ng makasariling kagustuhan nito. Ngunit wala nang silbi ngayon ang kamuhian at sisihin pa ang taong wala na. Gayonpaman, hindi nila kailanman matatakasan ang panghihinayang, pagsisisi, at pagluluksa.
"Do you remember that there were two symbolic objects in the org?" Tanong ni Valter.
"Yeah..." mabagal na sagot ni Clade. "Our father's golden watch and Stefan's golden chain necklace. They symbolize the two leaders of the org. I kept Papa's watch in the vault after I used it against Stefan. Why have you asked about them?"
Huminga ng malalim si Valter bago sinimulan ang paliwanag. "Upon the establishment of the Organization, there is only one relevant object that symbolizes a sole leader inside of it. That is the golden watch which originally belonged to our grandfather. When he established the org, he also had a customized-made watch that allows him to record all the dealings and transactions involving the org. The watch was ahead of its time because it keeps information in the form of codes that can be converted into text. When Papa inherited it after he took over the org, he made some improvement on the watch which enabled him to record videos as well."
