I reposted the last chapter since I didn't really like how it turned out, so please check that out

Over the next few weeks, you noticeably avoided everyone, including Langa.

"Langa, have you seen Y/N lately?" Reki asked as he put another skateboard on the shelf. Langa answered with a quiet shake of his head. "She never leaves after me and mom anymore."

Reki sighed and sat down. "I see."

Langa had already told him the meaning of both songs, and everyone was worried about it. But nobody could get a hold of you.

"Hey..."

The two looked at the door and saw Miya holding his skateboard. "I need a wheel change please."

Reki nodded and began detaching the wheels from the board. "Any news on Y/N?"

"She hasn't been online on social media in weeks, and she changed her number from when it got leaked already. Is there anything in Kotaro?"

"Mom's been trying to contact him, but he hasn't read any of her messages."

"Oh." Miya sat down and scratched the chin of the small dog at the store. "...I'm worried. That unfamiliar voice when the lights dimmed, Kotaro isn't answering, she hasn't come to school. What is going on?"

"And it sucks that no one else understands the song." Langa said, handing Reki four wheels for Miya's skateboard.

Miya pursed his lips and buried his face in his hands. "This isn't happening, this isn't happening."

"You know, the friend that will stand next to me forever. And I'll do the same for you?"

"This is a dream, this is a dream." He grabbed his skateboard the moment Reki finished with the last wheel. "I'm going to hang out with Y/N's friends." And he hopped on his skateboard and skated off.

"Miya."

He came to a halt, seeing Eiji seated on the bench between Yu and Hina.

"I didn't know Eiji was going to be here."

"He was at the concert." Yu said. "He knows very brief English but he understood enough."

"Sorry for coming unannounced."

Miya shook his head. "I don't care. As long as you're not one of the people completely oblivious to how Y/N feels. Anything on her, by the way?"

"She hasn't asked us to come to practice." Kaya whispered. "And we found out why."

"Really?"

Nora nodded. "So, we tried figuring out what happened to Kotaro after what you told us, and we found that he was told that his mom supposedly was deathly ill with a disease back in Canada. This was after the blind date."

"Did you happen to figure out who the blind date was with?"

Eiji nodded. "It was at one of our branch restaurants. My friend works at the one him and his blind date went on."

Miya leaned forwards, pressing his chin against his folded hands. "And who was his blind date?"

"It was a man, to his surprise, named Jirou Ichiji. But from what my friend found out, the guy was being really nosey about Y/N."

"So he left early?"

"Yep."

Hina turned on her phone. "The restaurant isn't far from my house, so I managed to get a very pixelated image of that night on my security camera. But it's cropped and you can really only see his legs walking away."

"Shouldn't we tell the police about this?" Eiji asked, but Nora shook her head. "That'll just draw attention. The reason Y/N isn't telling us is because she doesn't want our attention on it... at least, not directly."

"What do you mean?" Miya asked.

"The universal language is music. And when your music sounds like that, it's a cry for help."

Shindo tapped his chin, a soft hum coming from his closed lips. "Y/N said that Kotaro didn't call her during the date, so she assumed that he was enjoying the date. But he wasn't..."

A quiet gasp came from Hina's mouth. "You don't think...?"

"That blind date has to be something. All that doesn't just happen in one night as a coincidence."

Yu sighed and leaned his head on Eiji's shoulder. "Dammit, why are people so complicated?"

Eiji patted Yu's cheek and looked at his phone. "Guys! Y/N's online."

Everyone whipped out their phones, but then Yu stopped them. "If we all text her the moment she's online, it'll make her catch onto our little investigation. Give her a few minutes to see if she texts us first."

They lowered their phones, staring at the blank home screen in hopes of you texting them.

"I got one." Everyone crowded around Miya's phone as it buzzed twice.

Sorry, I was really busy the passed few weeks! I'm fine, dw!

"Bull, she's missing the peace sign emoji that she always has when she's actually okay." Yu said.

"You're awfully observant."

"He's right though." Hina pulled out her phone and showed a picture of the group chat. "See? It's always there."

Yeah, I ate, dw ✌️

No, I got an A+ ✌️

Dw, alr finished ✌️

"It's hard not to notice."

"Just don't make it seem like you noticed." Yu took Miya's phone and instead of protesting, Miya stood up and looked over his shoulder.

Whatever you say. But why aren't you coming to school?

They stared at the three dots signifying that you were typing, then watched it disappear, then reappear for two seconds before saying,

Just busy

"Girl— I swear, if I see that happen one more time in this conversation!" Nora took the phone and typed,

Busy with what? Your next concert isn't in a while, right?

The three dots once again.

Well no, but Kotaro wants me to practice

"Dim witted answer once again." Shindo pointed out. "Kotaro isn't in the country, and he would never tell her to overwork herself to the point that she can't contact us and she leaves early in the morning."

Kaya took the phone and said,

You could've told me that before disappearing

And the three dots again.

Sry, it slipped my mind. But dw, I'm fine

"No peace sign again!!" Yu took the phone once again.

Can you hang out now? We're all at the skate park

This time, the three dots were there for a really long time. Well, only half a minute, but the suspense was killing them.

I can't right now. I'm busy practicing the choreography for the next concert. This is my break right now. And I don't think I'll be able to hang out for a while. But can you please catch me up on school when you can? And tell Langa I'm fine and that he doesn't have to keep waking up early.

Yu sighed and gave the phone back. "It's no use. She's not spilling anything, whether we ask it to her bluntly or subtly."

Miya hummed. "I got that..."
