You returned home, seeing Langa finishing refining his skateboard in the living room and your mom making dinner in the kitchen.

*Hey.* You dryly greeted before making your way to your room. It was a tiring day and you just wanted to go to sleep. You were quiet on your way up other than the creaking steps, but you let out a heaving sigh the moment you collapsed onto your bed.

It was an eventful day, and you didn't bother to mask your exhaustion like you would for a concert or interview. You didn't have to, in any case. No one came bounding after you as you rushed to your room to get a wink of sleep.

But as you slept, a swept aside memory had replayed in your head, although soundless and also lacking faces.

You stared down at the skateboard rolling along the sidewalk beneath you, with your phone in sight and earbuds hanging from your ears, gently swaying in the Canadian autumn wind. The sidewalk turned to asphalt, striped with white paint to shape the crosswalk.

And then you felt an aggressive push on your back, shoving you from the skateboard and making you hit your head on the road. The world went dark for a moment.

But when you came to, all you saw was your best friend's motionless figure sprawled out on the road, with a car veered off the road and a broken skateboard still right beside it.

And you started awake.

It was a memory you had buried deep in your thoughts, often clouded by the memories you made here. Grief wasn't something you could let weigh you down in this industry.

You felt the pounding in your chest, and you took in deep breathes. You didn't know what made you feel like this.

Maybe it was because Kotaro had just come back from Canada. The memories of Canada come flooding in after hearing a whole crowd of people speaking English, using the same speech as you, and you didn't feel like such an outsider for once.

And then you just remembered the one person in Canada that didn't let you feel like one. Ever.

You brought your knees to your chest, feeling tears stinging your eyes. But you quickly wiped them. It was late at night, well past midnight, but you still didn't want to cry.

You stared at your phone, seeing it light up once to display a notification.

Hey, is anyone up?

It was Kaya on the group chat. You thought that no one would answer but then you saw Shindo typing.

Actually, I couldn't really sleep.

Then Hina.

I do hope that you are all able to go to slumber on other nights.

Yu suddenly appeared online, with Nora following but not saying anything.

U know i was sleeping but now im up

Eiji and Miya appeared online.

Do rich people not sleep or smth??

Miya we're not all millionaires. It's just Hina and Shindo

You laughed a bit and lied on your side, messaging back.

Well, it seems like we're all up now

Almost instantly, you all began a conversation. It was as if you were in person with each other, just talking about life and cringey memories from before, now laughing about it.

Yu, remember the first words you said to Eiji?

NO PLS

"I'll take ur number"
