What Can Cause Spotting After Sex?

Some women may experience bleeding after sexual intercourse, known as postcoital bleeding.

Possible causes include:

- Small vaginal and cervical injuries. These can be caused by lack of lubrication, especially when you are not fully ready for sex.

- Inflammation of the vagina and cervix.

- Sexually transmitted infections

- Endometriosis

- Irregular oral contraceptive intake

Normally, this type of discharge is non-recurrent, doesn't pose a health threat, and is not a cause for concern. However, if it occurs regularly and/or is accompanied by pain, you should contact a gynecologist to find out what's causing it.

** i bleed after sex so often for three specific reasons; i have endometriosis so sometimes even when im ready and wet and wanting it, sometimes I'll still bleed. Secondly, im a tiny girl, i married a very large Italian man with a pretty large Italian sausage so sometimes my cannoli gets busted and i end up bleeding; he stretches me out or rips me a bit (i hope my New Yorker readers can appreciate the cannoli joke) and third of all which is pretty common i presume, we just do it too hard, im small he's large, no matter how much spit and lube we use, i have endometriosis so i still end up bleeding.

Side Note: yes, sex usually (honestly, almost always) ends with me bleeding and cramping. it usually takes about two or three days (sometimes longer) for me to heal after he stretches/rips me, im not really sure why after five years of being with him, why i still rip and stretch so often; i think it could be my endometriosis, i think it makes things not as lubricated so in turn it doesn't slide in as easily and im left chafing and ripping.
it is absolutely awful and so so painful, it hurts to pee and wipe during the horrible ripping/bleeding after sex phase
