Candidiasis is not always accompanied by severe symptoms. In 20% of cases, there is no characteristic clumpy discharge and itching. Sometimes a yeast infection can have slight symptoms (for example, irritation of the vulva).
The asymptomatic course of the infection may lower your immunity and pose a danger in the event of conception. There is a threat of pregnancy complications and transmission of the infection to the child.
A smear test can be used to detect the condition. It will show if there is an excess growth of Candida fungi. Regular examinations by a gynecologist can also help detect the infection.
