If you have a yeast infection (candidiasis), it's better to abstain from sex. Although candidiasis isn't a sexually transmitted infection, there is a risk of infecting a partner with weak immunity during unprotected intercourse. In addition, having sex can cause microtraumas to your inflamed vaginal tissue, which may aggravate the condition. A yeast infection is usually accompanied by itching and soreness, which may become worse after sex.
