Yeast infection (candidiasis) does not hinder pregnancy. There is no proof that it can cause fertility problems. Candidiasis disrupts the pH of the vagina, but this doesn't prevent conception in most cases.
However, some experts say that the topical medications (creams and suppositories) used to treat yeast infection can impede the movement of sperm along the genital tract, thereby reducing the chances of getting pregnant.
Yeast infection can complicate the course of pregnancy if it becomes chronic. In addition, candidiasis can be transmitted from mother to child during delivery. So it's better to plan conception after completing a course of treatment and consulting a doctor if you have a yeast infection.
