While they were waiting for Gyeong-su's quarantine to end, the group have been divided but the majority crowds around the table at the center of the room.
On-jo and Byeol sat together with their back facing the others, staring out of the windows.
"What happened," On-jo gulps, her voice came out raspy from not speaking for a long time, "What happened earlier when I-sak turned? You froze."
Byeol looks down, fidgeting on the bright pink sticky notes, "I saw a mem---I don't actually know if that was a memory but I keep hearing I-sak's voice on my head. I don't actually know what happened."
"What did you saw?" On-jo asks.
Byeol tries to remember what she had saw earlier, "I think it was in my room and I-sak's helping me with choosing an outfit, then the three of us going to school in the same hairstyles, and the remaining were all in my room but it was only like a montage or something." she explains.
A bittersweet smile makes an appearance on On-jo's face, "You're starting to remember. We always have a sleepover in your house every friday. It was like our tradition and I-sak was always the one who likes coordinating our outfits and hairstyles. She said that the three of us could be soul triplets that was born in different family."
"I felt bad because she was the one who's really excited for me to remember things but it was too late when I started remembering things," Byeol admitted, wiping a lone tear that fell on her cheeks, "I couldn't---- I didn't have the heart to stab her eventhough I know she's already gone and she prefers resting than to roam around the school mindlessly."
On-jo leans her head on Byeol's shoulder but didn't say anything afterwards, just basking at the orange glow of the setting sun as they comfort each other silently.
Byeol sighs, grabbing her phone from her pocket and sliding it towards On-jo who's eyes widen as she slowly sit upright, "You have a phone?"
Since it was basically quiet at that moment, everyone heard her as they turn their head towards the duo.
"You have a phone all this time?" Nayeon snapped at her, "You could've call for help instead of being selfish."
Byeol raises an eyebrow on Nayeon, "Do you think I didn't try? I'm not like you and before you say that I kept it to myself, I literally tried telling all of you that I have a phone but you all ignored me."
"I thought you don't have a phone replacement yet?" Byeol's eyes widen slightly when she remembers that Ms. Park is with them.
Blinking innocently, Byeol responded, "But at least we have phone now."
Ms. Park wasn't sure how to react but she heave a sigh, "On-jo yah, go try to call for help."
"It's actually a good timing to have a phone right now since if it was revealed earlier, we might've dropped it by accident again while fleeing," Wujin stated.
"Now I'm curious on what's inside your backpack," Dae-su suddenly blurted out, pointing at the backpack that was placed on the foot of Byeol's chair.
Byeol's eyes drop to the backpack by her foot, grabbing it to unzip the zipper. A yellow package fell on the ground when it was opened widely.
All of their eyes widen in surprise as Dae-su literally stand up with his hand covering his mouth and eyes gleaming with joy, "It's food."
"Why do you seems so prepared?" Hyo-ryeong asks her.
"I was supposed to share it with On-jo and I-sak after class but..." she purposely trails her sentence to add for effect. She can't just tell them that she purposely packed tons of food because she's anticipating a zombie apocalypse.
"Are you aware that you're literally glowing in front of my eyes like an angel?" Dae-su said and if eyes could morph to hearts, it would be literally shaped like that by now.
"But since we don't really know until when are we going to get stranded in here, It's better if we ratio it carefully. I know this isn't much but it will help us for at least three days max if we ratio it very carefully." she explains.
"Yes, that's right Byeol. We'll start planning after Gyeong-su comes out," Ms. Park agrees.
"No one's answering the call," On-jo told them, phone in hand.
"Try looking at SNS. We might be able to find something that could help us in understanding what is happening," Joon-yeong suggested and just like that, they crowded around On-jo.
Byeol needs to get away from the crowd because she feels suffocated all of the sudden, there's a sudden yet faint stabbing pain on her heart and she could feel her throat constricting so without gathering any attention, she walks out of the crowd.
"Are you okay?" Nam-ra asks her when she sat beside the class president.
"Yeah, I just need some air." she responded, leaning her head back on the wall.
"Does your.... Does your parents answered your calls and messages yet?" the class president asks silently.
"Yah, I think it's really worst outside."
"What could have possibly happened for this to start?"
Byeol shakes her head slightly, "I've been waiting for their replies but I still got none. Dad's possibly busy with his training while Mom's on duty so she probably doesn't have her phone with her."
"They'll be okay, I'm sure of that." Nam-ra consoles her.
Byeol smiles, "I hope so."
"Oh? Byeol-ah," Joon-yeong calls the girl, "Did you pay your phone bill?"
Byeol's forehead furrows, "What do you mean?"
"The internet's suddenly stopped working," the bespectacled guy answered.
The girl stood up, walking towards them to grab her phone, "That's weird, I just got this phone earlier."
Meanwhile, at Ulsan, Hyun had just finished showering and planning to chill out before his training starts when his attention got caught by the news playing on the hotel's tv.
"The series of incidents occuring on Hyosan appears to be caused by a highly infectious virus that causes a mass outbreak. We'll coordinate to the Disease Control Center for more details. Director Cha Hyunseok, can you tell us what's going on?"
"Another outbreak? I should remind Byeol to wear masks." he said to himself, walking towards the table where he charges his phone.
"Considering the level of spread, it appears to be a highly infectious disease. Those infected became unusually aggressive. Victims showed similar symptoms, so we suspect secondary infection is possible."
"Oh?" Hyun's brows furrowed as the moment he opens his phone, he got bombarded with notifications and messages. But what got his attention is the multiple messages and calls from his daughter.
However, what alarmed him more is how the messages were constructed---like she's saying goodbye. Without reading the other messages, he dials his daughter's number.
"I'm sorry but the number you have dialed is out of coverage area. Please try again---"
Hyun ends the call and dials the same number again.
"I'm sorry but the number you ha----"
His heart starts beating eratically, panic and fear starts enveloping his system as his calls keeps redirecting to voicemail.
"Breaking news. Just in. The National Security Council has officially declared an evacuation order in place for Hyosan City in Gyeonggi Province. If you are watching this, please be aware you are under evacuation. Please leave the city immediately. I repeat, the situation is extremely serious."
This time, instead of calling his daughter, he dials his wife number next but before he could even press the call button, his phone rings and Bom's name flashes on the screen.
He immediately accepts the call as he heard Bom's rush voice the moment he picks up, "Meet me at the SOU building, our daughter needs our help."
