Life is very unpredictable...

There are times that Byeol wonder if her whole life is a story and that she's the main character---maybe a side character who's destiny is to suffer and to be alone all of her life. A cruel fate that was already predestined and she has to live with it.

Life is indeed unpredictable...

You will never know if you're going to wake up the next day or you'll forever rest, being hugged by the mist of darkness forever, cold and scary.

Byeol doesn't know how and why she woke up in this universe---a complete opposite of her universe. She might have the wealth in her universe but it was never enough. Maybe for some, it was more than enough but for people like her who's alone and destined to be fooled and surrounded by people you cannot trust, it wasn't really the dream life like how the mainstream media portrays. There's no happy ending in her universe, just continuous suffering.

In here, she's happy, she has friends, and she has a family. A family that would love her unconditionally and a family that is loyal to her. A friend that will never leave her despite of the harsh situation they find themselves into.

She might not tell it verbally but she's ready to die if it means that her friends, her parents, and Cheong-san will leave even if it's just for a second. Just looking at the teary expression of her friends as the light shines on them is enough for her to say that she's lucky and she's ready to die for them.

The sunlight shines inside the auditorium as three figures stand in front of them. Three people that symbolizes their hope. Three people that they know they can rely on and won't leave them like the other adults. On-jo was the first one to run to her father's embrace while Byeol froze, eyes planting on the two people--one is taller and clad in a denim jacket on-top of a plain shirt and pants. The other was smaller, clad in a black tactical suit and is equipped with a rifle.

She didn't move but she felt the tears falling like a waterfall down her cheeks, sobbing like a little child as the woman opens her arm to her. And just like that, Byeol felt the world become muffled as she run to her mother's arm, mirroring the time when she was a child and greeting her mother that just came home from work.

Bom wraps her arm around her daughter tightly, kissing the crown of her head as she coos at the shorter girl, "Our shining star, you're safe now."

"Mom," she whimpers like a little child, "I thought that you're....that you're----"

"Shhh, we're not, okay? We're right here in front of you and we'll never stop unless we know you're safe." Bom comforts her daughter as the other runs outside of the auditorium, closing the door behind them just as the barrier they made broke. Cheong-san closes the door behind him, in time to trap the zombies inside.

The group of teenagers collapse on the stairs as they catches their breath, limbs too exhausted to keep standing.

"Are you kids okay?" On-jo's dad asks the group who nodded in response, giving the family a short time for reunion as he checks the condition of the students.

"Guys, are you all able to run?"

"Yeah.."

Byeol pulls away from her mom, turning to the tall and fit man beside her. Hyun spread his arms just like his wife and it was enough for Byeol to wrap her arms around her dad too, "Dad, I'm so happy that you're also here."

"Good. Okay, if we go straight through the tennis court and pass the construction site, we'll reach the mountains."

Hyun melted as he held the back of his daughter's head to pull her closer, "We're never going to leave our star alone, aren't we? Just like what your mom said, we'll never stop until we know our princess is safe."
