"They abandoned us right?" Hyo-ryeong asks particularly to no one as they watch the retreating helicopter, "No one will come to save us right now, right?"
Byeol's not been able to hear anything, it seems like she's deep in the water, feeling suffocated as everything around her sounds muffled. Her eyesight is blurry due to the tears that couldn't stop from building up in the corner of her eyes as she held the rectangular handheld transceiver tightly to the point that her knuckles turning white.
No matter how she forces herself to calm down, to think positive, each of every speculations will end up on a conclusion that her parents might be dead--- again.
Her heart aches, like it was being forcefully ripped into half while she's still alive. She could feel every tore of her heart strings, every shards on her throat that leaves her heaving as she clutches her chest with her fingers.
She suddenly stood up, not really meant to push Cheong-san but the sudden fury inside of her is bubbling, threatening to burst and spill. Blood suddenly spreads around the whites of her eyes as her eyesight turned red. She has to get away from them fast.
She runs away from the group, kicking the old cabinet stacked on the corner of the rooftop to release the extreme anger that suddenly envelopes her system with unknown origin. The old cabinet rattle as she swings a fist next, crying out in anguish as she broke down, using the old cabinet as her outlet.
Cheong-san walks towards her but she flinches, cowering away as she closes her eyes tightly, aware of how she's very near the edge of control right now, "Please, don't come near me. I---I don't want to hurt anyone."
Her boyfriend stops, staring at her with painful expression as she run and hide behind the boxes. She fell on the ground, her knees giving up on her as she silently mourn.
She can't believe it. She lost her parents for the second time. How can life be so cruel to her? How can she even continue fighting when two of the most reason of why she's doing it in the first place are possibly dead?
"No," she shakes her head, "They can't... they can't be dead."
She fumbles with the transceiver, clicking the button on the side as she swallow down the sob that's threatening to leave her lips, "Mom? Dad? Can you hear me? Over."
"If... If you can hear me, please give me any sign that you're alive. I don't think I'm going to make it if I lose my parents for the second time. "
The weather seems to sympathize with the group of teenagers as the thunder rumbles, the violent tendrils of lightning strikes and illuminating the dark sky.
Byeol flinches as another thunder booms and ripped the silence, palm going to her ears as she hides her body more on the pile of boxes, wincing everytime the loud sound echoes on her eardrums.
Cheong-san looks at the dark sky worriedly before deciding to walk where Byeol's hiding but a small hand grabs him on the wrist.
"Can I do it?" On-jo's meek voice told him, the smaller girl's face exhibiting no emotion but her round eyes looking up at the boy with pleading gleam.
Cheong-san turn to the pile of boxes where Byeol's hiding before nodding, turning around and walking towards where the others were huddled.
On-jo starts walking to where Byeol is hiding, footsteps so light in fear that she'll scare her as she approaches her bestfriend. She almost broke down at the vulnerable state of her bestfriend, cowering on the corner and looking so small. She's never seen her this hurt before, especially after the zombies had started and the virus had spread. While they are all scared shitless, crying, and panicking, Byeol stood tall and not afraid of the undead. She valiantly fought the zombies and Gwi-nam---even the virus itself.
