Byeol couldn't find Cheong-san. She's straining her ears and her nose so she could track him but to no avail. Maybe after she goes up to the rooftop and find no Cheong-san, she'll go down and roam around the field next.

Whistling as she looks at each room for the boy and twirling her switch knife that she retrieved earlier with her other hand, she passes by some zombies roaming mindlessly along the hallway, tripping some of them just for the sake of it.

As she went up the stairs, her ears picks up heavy breathing, groans, and metal clanging. She's about to ignore it if it wasn't because of how the zombies literally run towards the sound.

Byeol squints her eyes to look at the zombies running towards the plumbing box. The gray metal door suddenly swings open, hitting the zombies on the face as they fell on the floor with a groan.

Cheong-san suddenly jump from the plumbing system, landing on the ground as he get tackled by a zombie.

Byeol's eyes brighten as she run towards the commotion, pushing zombies as she kicks the zombie away from Cheong-san, stabbing the zombie on top of him in the back of its head as she effortlessly throw the now dead zombie aside.

"Cheong-san, hi!" Byeol beams at the guy who has his eyes red rimmed with the mixture of blood, sweat, and tears caking his face.

He's in disbelief as Byeol pulls him up, high kicking the zombies that's charging towards them while still holding his hand. Cheong-san punches a zombie that's trying to bite him while Byeol's busy in the front.

"Come on, we have to get inside." Byeol said, pulling him forward as they run hand-in-hand.

As they run, a zombie suddenly runs towards them from the inside of a room, colliding to the door really hard making the door burst out of its hinges and although Cheong-san manages to avoid it, Byeol wasn't that lucky.

She was thrown towards the wall as their hands separates. Cheong-san immediately runs towards her, punching the zombie in rage as he hauls her up and this time, he's the one taking the lead as they run through the hallway.

Byeol, finally recovering from the blow pulls Cheong-san back just in time for another horde of zombies to charge towards them from the front. She slides the door of the nearest room open, pushing Cheong-san inside as punches the zombie trying to get inside.

Cheong-san, seeing that Byeol's not inside the room yet pulls her inside using her sweater, closing the door when she's inside. The zombies slams their body on the close door, trying to get inside as Cheong-san grab the guitar lying on top of the cabinet in front of the floor, ready to slay some zombies but the room's empty.

Byeol walks towards him, placing a palm on his shoulder to calm him down, "It's fine. It's safe here." a snarls made them stop, Cheong-san slightly pushing her backward as he ready the guitar on his hand.

Byeol shakes her head, "I have a knife and the zombie's literally stucked on the piano. I'll handle it,"

She begins to walk towards the zombie, Cheong-san following closely behind her and is ready if the zombie suddenly attacks them.

The snarls of the zombie that was stuck on the piano increases at it becomes more aggressive at the sight of a non-infected. Byeol grabs a fabric from the floor and cover its face, driving her switch knife right at the middle of its forehead before it stops trashing around. The fabric that she placed prevents any blood from spluttering around.

Byeol was suddenly pulled up by Cheong-san, arms encircling her waist tightly as her cheeks collided with his clothed chest.

A couple of minutes silence reigns until Byeol decided break the hug, grabbing Cheong-san's arm and pulling him away from the cadaver.

Cheong-san cups her face, caressing her cheeks lightly as he stares down at her with all of the emotions he feels all at once directed to her, "Why are you roaming around the school? Where's the others? I told Su-hyeok---"

"Su-hyeok's not at fault. It was my own decision," Byeol cuts him off, holding Cheong-san's hand that cups her cheeks and pulling it away from her face, intertwining their fingers instead.

"But why did you do it? It's dangerous." Cheong-san fretted, gaze soft as he looks down at his girlfriend in worry.

"Not for me," Byeol started to which made Cheong-san confused so she continues, "I'm invisible to them. They won't attack me."

The confusion on Cheong-san's face deepens, "What?"

Byeol looks down at their still intertwined hands, unable to meet his questioning eyes as she finally admitted, "I'm infected. I turned and I ate a hamster but I vomitted it afterwards. I can't stay with them any longer because I don't know if the next time I turned, I won't be in control anymore."

Cheong-san looks dumbfounded, eyes gleaming with tears as it starts to fall down on his cheeks, hurt etched on his face as he looks down the lass, "That's impossible. You're not like them, you saved me."

Byeol reaches to wipe Cheong-san's tears and the lad leans on her hand, "I'm not like them---I'm not going to let myself to be like them. I don't know how to explain it but I felt different. I'm not sure what I am but what I know is that I'm never going to succumb to the virus. I'm Hyun's and Bom's daughter and not even a lethal virus could scare me. They should be scared of me."

"How did you get bitten?" the lad asks in between of his sobs, still unable to believe it.

Byeol contemplated whether to tell him the truth but she did anyway. She trusts Cheong-san, "I was bitten before I got into an accident."

Cheong-san's brows furrows in confusion, "That was months ago.." he trails before realization dawned to him, "There's already a zombie way before it happens?"

Byeol nodded, "I don't know the origin of the virus but yes, I was bitten months ago but I didn't turn for so long so there's a huge probability that I can be in control. But in order to do that, I have to understand and assess the situation properly and that's why I can't stay here with you."

Cheong-san panic, grabbing both of her hands tightly, "What do you mean you're not going to stay?"

"I will have to leave for now but I'll come back immediately as soon as I satisfy my thirst to knowledge. I have to be certain that I'm not a threat to the group especially that I found out I'm infected." she explains, tip-toeing to kiss Cheong-san on the corner of his lips.

She pulls away first before Cheong-san could even process it, "I have to go. Stay here because I'm sure the others is coming up with a way to get to you. I hinted to them that the safest way is the rooftop since it has the higher visibility for the choppers flying around the school. If you need help, just shout. I'll hear it."

Byeol pulls away, turning around and starts walking away but Cheong-san grab her on wrist, pulling her back as his arms wraps around her waist before their lips collided.

Warmth spreads from their lips that was pressed together and then down to their hearts, invoking the muscle to beat eratically as Byeol melted on Cheong-san's arms. Sweet memories starts to flash in front of Byeol's eyes as she starts to close it, cherishing the intimate kiss they share as Cheong-san makes sure that he pour his hearts out in this silent conversation.

The world between the two seems to blur around as the sounds of snarls becomes muffled. The pair is so oblivious to their surrounding that they didn't notice the drone hovering outside of the window as their friends watches their interaction with smiles.

"They're so fucking sweet that I think I'm going to vomit," Gyeong-su commented.
