Chapter 2: A New Home

Everything is quiet. The darkness envelops me, and I hesitate to move, fearing the slightest sound might shatter the stillness. What brought me here? Where are my friends? Questions swirl in my mind, but there are no answers—only the eerie silence.

Then, a flicker of light dances in the distance. Should I follow it? I rise slowly, hoping for clarity. The light pulses again, accompanied by strange sounds. My curiosity outweighs my fear. Perhaps this light holds the key to my predicament.

As I reach out, pain explodes in my head, driving me to my knees. I groan, teeth clenched. Why is this happening? Where am I? The light beckons, and I press on, determined to uncover the truth.

I awaken to a persistent dripping, each drop echoing in my skull. My hand finds my aching head, and I rub it gently. The pain subsides slightly. I open my eyes, wincing as the harsh light assaults my senses. Dry lips part in a croaky groan. Cold, hard, and wet—my skin registers the sensation. I'm in a cell, my surroundings grim.

Dizziness overtakes me as I stand too quickly. I lean against the bars, arms wrapped around myself. How did I miss the silver, rusty chain on my wrist? Desperation settles in.

Footsteps approach. Panic grips me, freezing me in place. A man stands before the cell, his presence commanding. "Hmm...this little one is awake, Dairou," he says. His piercing grey eyes and dimples catch my attention. Handsome, despite the circumstances. But who is Dairou, and what awaits me in this mysterious place?

I press my palm against the cold bars, desperation clawing at my chest. "Where am I?" My voice cracks, but I force the words out. "Why am I here?"

His eyes soften, revealing a hint of sympathy.

"Unfortunately, in a cell, I'm afraid." he says.

"Where is this place?"

He smiled, a disturbingly nice smile. "You'll find out soon enough, human." He cocked his head to the side. Human? What was wrong with this guy? Was he on drugs? Kidnapped by drug addicts? "Human? What's that supposed to mean?" I demanded. He ignored me, starting to walk away. I had to get out of here. But how? The cell door creaked open, interrupting my thoughts. "Let's go, little one," the first man said.

I didn't move. He had to be crazy if he thought I'd go with him. He tapped his foot patiently, an amused grin on his face. "Fine. Your call. I'll let your master come get you then." He gave me a disappointed look before leaving. Master? Seriously, was this guy on some pills? Thundering footsteps echoed down the corridor. I cowered in the corner of my cell. A man appeared before me, and a gasp escaped my lips. Black hair blew slightly in the cold wind, light grey eyes piercing through me. His fit, muscular body was complemented by pale skin and full lips. He looked hauntingly beautiful. Oh crap, I was staring at a hot stranger who kidnapped me. Two hot strangers. What was wrong with me?

"What are you staring at?" he demanded, but we both knew the answer.

"N-nothing," I stuttered. He smiled at my nervousness.

"Hmm... why didn't you come when Aries told you to?" I didn't answer. He frowned at me, suddenly appearing in front of me without moving.

He wrapped his hand around my neck, cutting off my air supply. "When I ask a question, little girl, I expect an answer. Do you understand?" he said, squeezing my neck to emphasize his point. I nodded as my eyes began to water. "Good. Aries, take this thing to my car. I need to make a phone call." The handsome man from earlier, Aries, appeared in front of me.

"Sure, buddy," he replied cheerfully, though I noted the sarcasm. The man with the light eyes rolled his eyes and left. I was relieved he was gone.

"Should have listened to me. He let you off with a warning," Aries shook his head at me. I didn't say anything, too nervous to speak.
