"Are we too young for this?"

"Jade, you do realise you skipped all of econ, right?" Stiles asked the girl who had just rejoined the group.

"Yup, I know, what did i miss?" she replied. She had been sitting in her car reading for the last class and had obviously got too engrossed that she had forgetting about the time. In her defence, she had just needed time to think so that she wouldn't go back and hunt Jackson down. Actually, thinking back on that, it probably wouldn't have been a bad thing.

"We figured out that Allison doesn't make Scott weak. She makes him stronger," Stiles noted, nodding.

"She's your anchor!" Jade exclaimed, throwing her hands up in the air. God, why hadn't she thought about that originally? It seemed so obvious now, like it had been staring them right in the face. The three boys stared at her in confusion, as if she was speaking a different language. Right. Sometimes she forget that people weren't on the same page as her. "She's your anchor. She keeps you grounded, kind of. Basically, if you think about her, it can give you control. Most of the time."

"He also came to the conclusion that he loves her," Max spilled, desperate to see if Jade had the same reaction as what he and Stiles had. And He wasn't betraying Scott's trust, because he hadn't necessarily said that it was a secret. He was good at keeping secrets: that was something that he prided himself on the most.

"But moving past that for now," Scott blushed. "I can't be near her all the time, so what do I do when I'm not?"

"I have an idea," Stiles grinned mischievously. Max had to bite back a laugh, turning it into a cough. Every time that his friend done that, the resemblance to Gollum from Lord of the Rings was uncanny and he just couldn't shake the image from his head.

"It's gonna get me in trouble and I'm probably gonna end up getting hurt, right ?" Scott grimaced. Did they just love putting him through pain? Maybe it was a new sport they had invented.

"Yep."

"I can't believe I went along with that and now we're all in detention," Max whispered, glaring as he turned around in his seat. "That was the stupidest thing we have ever done, and that's saying something."

Stiles' brilliant plan was to key someone's car, and then blame Scott. That had resulted in the werewolf getting beaten up, to see if he still had an anchor and still had control. They would have gotten away with it if Mr Harris hadn't decided to come outside at that exact moment and give them all an after school detention.

"You know, for once in my life, I actually agree with him," Jade sighed, turning around, too. She didn't actually know what you were meant to do in detention; she had never gotten one until now and was still unsure about what was supposed to happen.  So far, it had consisted in reading and watching the hands on the clock go round and round.

"Okay, I'll pretend that I wasn't offended by that."

"Excuse me, sir?" Scott addressed Mr Harris in a meek voice. The teacher sighed, glaring as he looked up from his work. "I know it's detention and everything but I'm meant to be at work and I kind of don't wanna get fired."

The teacher just gave a smug smile and got back to the papers he was grading. He was going to make sure to dock marks on the four of these students. It was simply because he didn't like them, but he could find some excuse that would satisfy the board of education.

"I so need to get a job because if it was any other teacher apart from him, that excuse would have worked," Max whispered harshly, tapping his pencil on his page in boredom.
