"I don't know what to
do without you,
I don't know where to
put my hands."

Jade was anxiously driving way above the speed limit, feeling like she was going to throw up. Whether it was PTSD from their car accident, or because she didn't know what they were expecting, she wasn't sure of. She had wanted to teleport there to save time, but Scott put his foot down and forced her to drive, with him in the passenger seat keeping an eye on her. He didn't want her to charge in there without thinking it through logically. It would just get her hurt and screw up everything else, too.

As she pulled up to the gates outside of Oak Creek, Allison's black car and Stiles' bright blue jeep parked beside her, the people inside jumping out.

A chill travelled down her spine, goosebumps running down her arm at how creepy the place was. She wasn't a seer and she wasn't a banshee, but she didn't need to be either of those things to realise that they were walking into a graveyard, a place that echoed of death.

It was dark, making it hard to see where you were walking, the only light being from small lamps on the walls. The painted gates were already open, leaving enough of a gap for them to walk through without any trouble. There was bushes full of thorns outside and warning signs hanging up everywhere, reinstating the fact that this was a bad idea.

"Where's Max?" Jade asked immediately, folding her arms across her chest as the group formed outside the gates.

"Derek phoned. He needed help with something," Stiles explained, closing his eyes to stop the world from spinning. Jade and Scott had left a few minutes before the others, so they had no clue that the empath wasn't going to be there from the start.

There was a small enough group of them, but Scott was confident that they would be able to save Lydia. Having another pair of hands to help would be appreciated, but it just depended on what Derek needed his cousin for.

"We've done this before," he started off his motivational speech. There was always one before going into battle in movies, and it seemed like an appropriate time to make one himself. "A couple of weeks ago we were standing around just like this and we saved Malia. That was a total stranger. This is Lydia."

"I came to save my best friend," Allison started off, interlacing their fingers with Jade, trying to reassure one another that it would be okay, even if it didn't feel that way.

"I came to save mine," Scott added.

Everyone looked to Jade, who squirmed under their gaze, not knowing what to say. She wanted to say that Lydia was her best friend, but maybe they were more than that. No, they were more than that, there was no maybe about it.

"I just didn't feel like doing any homework," Isaac interrupted. He could see how uneasy Jade was about the whole situation, so was trying to take some of the heat off her by spewing a sarcastic comment.

"You come with us," Stiles nodded, grabbing Jade by the arm, sprinting through the gates and down an alleyway.

Scott was right behind them, his mind moving too fast to keep up with all the thoughts that were running through his head. He paused, trying to regain himself and focus on the ringing in his ears. The sound of a heartbeat. "She's here. This way."

The wind whipped through Jade's hair as she moved, almost as if she was in sync with it. She could feel that Lydia was here, feel it in her soul. But she could also feel the dread seeping through her veins and the urge to run the opposite way, as far away from this place as possible.
