If you are unable to read very distressing and disturbing things, please skip past this part. All in all, this book will probably end up much darker than The Hidden One, so I'll try to add a warning such as this before any super distressing scenes.

Claire's lungs felt like they were closing. No air could get in, which was good because if she could breathe she would be able to scream. Her limbs were thrashing around, ringing her dark green sheets, her blanket thrown to the ground.

"My sweet child, I'm doing this for you."

Claire's mouth opened in a silent scream as she watched a man get tortured in front of her.

"Watch, Claire, and see what happens to muggle filth."

The man kept screaming for what seemed like hours until his body collapsed, blood oozing out of his eyes, mouth, and ears, a bubble of blood bursting as he took his last breath. His eyes were wide and Claire  could see the sharp contrast between the blue of his eyes and the blood slowly leaving them.

"Come see how un-pure his blood is."

Claire was lifted easily and then was crouched down in front of the man. She heard herself giggle as she reached down and touched the blood, and she could feel it coating her fingers. She playfully hit the man's face a few times, getting more urgent as the man didn't move. She started screaming, and all she could hear was a cackle.

"Little Claire, it is all over. We're doomed. Mummy loves you, I do, even if I don't know how to show it. I'm going to get us far, far away from here and one day we'll come back when it's time. And we'll be in charge."

"Em, what are you doing?"

"Remus, go to sleep."

"Why are you covered in blood?"

The cold cackle made Claire toss and turn even more, and she couldn't tell what was real and what was fake. Everything felt real.

"It is over. Remus, do you love me?"

"Emaline...you know the answer to that."

"Go to sleep and forget this conversation. When they ask you, you haven't seen me all night. Do you understand?"

"Yes, my love."

"And Remus...I did love you once."

The next few seconds were filled with screams, a cackle that made Claire feel as if her blood had stopped running, and her own screams and cries.

"Remus, kill her."

"Stop controlling me!"

"Kill her, Remus. You belong to me, and you do what I say."

Claire could see her father trying to fight the voice who she couldn't see, but he was losing.

"Kill her! Now!"

Remus muttered 'I'm sorry' over and over again, his wand moving up without him trying. Claire was frozen in her spot in a second and her father was on top of her, tears running down his face as his large hands went around her petite throat. She was gasping for air, her hands unable to fight her father off.

Her vision was going spotty until suddenly all she was was the moon. It was a full moon, brighter than ever and it followed Claire as she walked through a field of wildflowers.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm dreaming...or at least I hope I am."

"I meant how can you see me?"
