              "Something bad's about
                     to happen to me."

Jade quietly opened the front door, slipping into the house.

"Where were you?" a voice asked from behind her.

"What the hell!" she screamed, hitting whoever it was.

"You weren't answering your phone! We were waiting for like two hours! Where were you?" Scott exclaimed.

Jade chewed the inside of her cheek, ignoring the anxious feeling that was slowly creeping its way back in. "I just went for a drive," she shrugged. It wasn't a lie; she had drove around and then went and sat in Starbucks until she got kicked out. Stupid closing hours.

"Are you okay?" Max asked. Him and Scott had been calling her for ages; Scott had even tried to find her by scent, but that hadn't worked. They were afraid she'd gone off and done something stupid- especially with the way her mental health had been recently.

"I'm fine. I'm going to bed," she sighed.

She ran up the stairs before closing her door behind her. She closed her eyes, breathing deeply. She hadn't meant to freak out earlier, it was just a lot to take in. She wasn't going to kill the kanima. It was probably someone they knew, and she wasn't going to do that. She wasn't going to be a killer, end of the story.

A flash at her window and the sound of a camera clicking made her eyes snap open. She could hear the sound of someone jumping from the tree outside, but when she looked out, no one was there. She stayed at the windowsill, her eyes darting around wildly. Finally, she closed her window and yanked the curtains across.

As she made her way into bed, she felt paranoia begin to seep through her veins. Had someone been watching her? And had that someone been taking photos of her?

Stiles ran into their english classroom, arms flailing around like a mad man. He stopped by the twins and Scott, taking the desk behind Max. "I just talked to my dad, who just talked to Jackson, and I've got terrible, horrible, very, very bad news," he panted.

"I think we already know," Scott whispered. Jade rolled her eyes, pointing at Isaac who was sat in front of her.

As if he was summoned by the group talking about him, he turned to look at Jade. There was a smirk playing on his face. It was soon wiped off, replaced with a glare when he had a piece of popcorn collide with his face. "Go away," Max hissed.

Jade flipped through her economics book, getting ready for the test they were going to have tomorow. They'd been told a week in advance that it was coming up, but she'd only started studying four days ago when the panic really started to kick in. At least it wasn't worth anything major towards her grade.

"Hey, testicle left and right. And siblings that I can slightly tolerate," Jackson whispered. Very tactful. "What the hell is a kanima?" he asked. The teens turned to look at him so quickly that he was sure they gave themselves whiplash.

Coach threw his book onto his desk, the noise cutting their conversation short. "Listen up. Quick warning before we begin our review," he said, starting the lesson. Jade shared a glance with Stiles. How the hell did Jackson, of all people, know about the kanima? "Some of you, like McCall, might want to start your own study groups as tomorrow's midterm is so profoundly difficult... I'm not even too sure I could pass it!" he laughed.
