𝟓𝟕 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬; 𝐡𝐲𝐮𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐱

𝟭𝟰; 𝗜𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺

brightness -- that was all Felix's eyes could see once he had opened them, his nostrils were filled with the scent of medicine and fresh fabric he shut them again not being able to bear the piercing pain they brought to his head. he took a deep breath as he turned his soft palms into fists to help calm himself down, he exhaled listening to the machines beeping in the distance as he slowly began to open his eyes slowly this time tilting his head to the side

he gulped down a thick ball of saliva soothing his aching throat he opened his eyes again and much to his luck, it wasn't a bright flashlight. he let out another sigh as he blinked his eyes to look around the room only then to realize he was in a hospital room 'what am I doing here?' he licked his lips sitting up straight as he held his throbbing head

soon enough memories from earlier flooded through his head as he gasped "hyunjin! he must be waiting for me" that was his first thought. the minute he spoke up chan turned to look at him "oh you're awake" he spoke with a relieved tone making felix look at him "how are you feeling?"

felix was quiet for a minute before speaking up "fine..." he whispered as chan walked closer to him "I'm glad" he spoke smiling at the sick boy in front of him "is there any reason you stopped taking your medicine when I strictly told you to?" chan questioned sitting down besides felix on the bed

"I um...how did you know?" felix asked looking down on his lap "I happen to be a doctor" chan spoke making felix chuckle softly "is it..." chan whispered and felix shook his hands "no no no" felix chanted trying to get the thought out of chan's head "It is isn't it?" chan sighed and so did felix "I'm sorry It was a dumb idea" chan shook his head

"I didn't think it'd make a big difference well clearly I was wrong" felix spoke looking at his doctor in the eyes "but I'm fine, I promise. I'll stay on schedule this time even if it makes all my hair fall out" he chuckled pretending there was something funny in his words but all there was, was helplessness "It's okay felix" chan spoke

felix smiled nodding his head "I know, it is okay" they both got silent at that "can I have my phone?" The brunette asked innocently making chan click his tongue "about that, you are to stay away from any screens for a day" Chan replied pursing his lips in a thin line making felix stare at him in disbelief

"But i...I have to text someone, it's urgent" felix muttered staring at the said male with pleading eyes but much to his disappointment he was only met with a single shoulder shrug which made him whine "why do I even have to-" "because you need to rest Felix, now eat something and go back to sleep. You've been torturing yourself by overworking too much" felix sighed

"At least let me make a call" chan sighed knowing a little too well the younger wasn't going to give up, he was a sweet kid. Perhaps just a little stubborn "fine" the older of the two gave in walking towards a corner of the room as he walked back with a mobile phone in his hand which appeared to be Felix's

"Thank you!" The latter enthusiastically thanked his doctor who only sighed at his childishness. "I have the rest of the night off, which I'll be spending with you," chan said smiling as he dragged out a chair from the corner and sat it right by Felix's bed making him sigh out loud "you should be home, resting. You don't need to-" "I didn't really ask" Felix shook his head in disbelief as he proceeded to stare at his screen which was showing hyunjin's caller ID

he anticipatedly watched the ringing line go on and on until there was finally a response from the other male, he quickly put the phone on his ear now staring at his hand which was set in his lap "hyunjin?" He voiced out and for some reason, the taller's name sounded ever so sweet from his lips
