"I'm not really sure, It feels bizarre to accept it" Hyunjin's words registered in Felix's mind long after he had already finished swallowing his food and now was staring at Hyunjin "It shouldn't, it comes with the position you're given it's not like he's just passing it onto you for free" Felix reasoned, trying to make Hyunjin understand why it wouldn't be bizarre to accept a beautiful apartment in a beautiful complex of a beautiful affluent neighborhood because his position at the job has been promoted. they were seated in a simple restaurant two blocks away from their place grabbing lunch as Hyunjin had a free hour while every hour was free for Felix

"Why was I even given the position in the first place?! I pitched a stupid idea which to be very honest wasn't even that innovative and suddenly I'm hired to be officially on the team, for what? I am not even supposed to be an employee at this place I'm literally a silly part-time worker, he's being way too obvious with this whole thing" Hyunjin rolled his eyes for the umpteenth time that afternoon, he's had enough of his boss' graciousness and he is way too contradicted with everything in this so-called job.

Junho; his boss had given him a promotion because Hyunjin, very hesitantly pitched an idea on how they could please the clients that had rejected their notions for the entirety of the past year, Ironic because Hyunjin would be the last person to know anything about pleasing anyone but somehow it worked and Junho, who hadn't expected that from Hyunjin was so surprised that he promoted him to be on this team, officially. it sounded like a mere deal but it truly wasn't especially for someone as inexperienced and a social pariah as Hyunjin. and this is why he was sitting here, complaining for the past thirty-five minutes with nonstop whining and eye-rolls

Felix wasn't sure what the problem here was, the fact that Junho was being nice to Hyunjin, the fact that work would be tougher than usual now that he was at a higher position, or because Hyunjin simply didn't want the job. The raven head has been ranting incessantly and he still hasn't clearly stated what part of this he isn't enjoying "Jinnie, what exactly is the issue here?" Felix questions, settling down the glass of juice and resting back in his seat while Hyunjin huffs and twirls around his spaghetti "I don't know" Hyunjin mumbled, eyes down on his plate as a mere pout almost made its way onto his plump lips and Felix couldn't fight the smile, it's not his fault when the other looks as adorable as a ferret

"You can take your time to think this over, you can always decline" Felix mumbled assuringly and Hyunjin nodded at his words, it's true. he should take time before he loses his leftover brain cells over this problem and then come to a conclusion rather than brainstorming and crushing up beautiful napkin swans that the staff put so much effort into.

seconds pass and the two boys sit silently which is a first ever since they've set foot into this place. Felix stared at the other boy quietly eating his meal which he had only been playing with since it arrived "How are you done eating already, You're the slow one" he complained and Felix smiled "I finished eating while you were too busy rolling your eyes" Hyunjin huffed and threw a comical glare in the brunette's direction which only made him smile further

the reason Hyunjin was so skeptical about this promotion and house was because he was unsure if he deserved it or not. Sure, he'd been working extra hours and extra hard to keep up with the rest of the employees ever since he was hired, going to extensive lengths to the point where he knew better about some things than the people who had been working there for months. but what he was unaware of was the fact that when Junho found out the kind of life Hyunjin has been living, the man he was raised by, and the 'flying colors' he graduated school with, he wasn't necessarily certain about Hyunjin's capability of business or anything for that matter

he didn't think Hyunjin would be such a hard worker, he was expecting an unskilled brat who was fed on a silver platter his entire life but instead, he got a skilled brat who was trying his best to not punch everyone and was fed on a gold platter. Hyunjin assumed Junho was only being kind because of his father and their connection but the man was truly impressed and he wanted to see how far Hyunjin could go if given the right opportunities. now was it unfair to those who had broken their backs and earned this spot and Hyunjin got it just by pitching an idea? yes. did his hard work and extra hours messure to theirs? no.
