a withering sigh fell out of the brunette's pretty lips as he wandered around the cafe, he had just finished his shift at the store and now he was back here. even after being kicked off jobs and dropping a few, he still had much to do. typically, all he did was wake up and go to work. which was followed by more work, and well. more work

he didn't really mind any of that work because that was all he could basically do, not having any friends or any particular things to look after, smothering himself with work seemed like a good escape from his terrible life, which he hated to admit of course. he had romanticized this life to the point where all his misery seemed 'casual' to him. the boy had always been extra beaming with positivity

but these days, he's been getting extra tired from these three jobs that he had. it was odd and concerning but he didn't think much of it

"so Mr. Young Hwang, when are you planning to take over the company? because this old man here, he's graying as we speak" the man sitting on the opposite side of hyunjin joked as he washed down his food with wine, a few laughs echoed in the quiet dining hall. the laughs being that of hyunjin's and the other families' while the boy mentioned earlier remained quiet not a single muscle on his face moving in response

everybody got quiet waiting for hyunjin to reply, the old man cleared his throat in awkwardness as they began to talk about other things. while hyunjin's father's eyes remained on the raven head shooting glares at him from time to time which hyunjin ignored only paying attention to his food

the dinner was going well until the girl sitting on hyunjin's left spilled wine all over her pretty white dress, which led the table to be filled with gasps and whispers of 'are you okay?' she chuckled softly "oh no, I'm okay don't worry Mrs. Hwang" she uttered to the lady shaking her hands in front of her face "where is the restroom?" she spoke, voice sweet and soft "hyunjin, son why don't you help wonyoung out and take her upstairs...into your room" his father spoke, voice laced with anger that was only visible to hyunjin's ears

he was aware he had pissed off his father by not responding to his friend earlier, and he didn't care. but he really wanted to end this evening in peace rather than listening to a lecture by his father, which was likely bound to happen. he had two options now, he could help the girl out and lessen the chances of his night being ruined or he could further spoil this 'early dinner' his father had arranged and ruin his reputation in front of his old friend by not helping his daughter out

he let out a loud, irritated sigh through his nostrils as he put down his fork with force while standing up on his feet and leading the lady away from the dining hall, his father smirked and hyunjin caught a glimpse of that "fucking bastard" he muttered ever so slowly as he walked away with wonyoung trailing from behind

his father's ears were quick to catch the insult as the old man gritted his teeth together before taking a sip of his red wine, and he made a mental note to teach hyunjin a 'lesson' as he like to call it once the guests had left

hyunjin opened the door to his room and gestured towards the left side of the room as he continued to walk closer to his bed and sit down, the girl awkwardly scratched her nape and walked towards the restroom door, her high heels clicking on the ground. hyunjin wondered in his head if he should leave her hair and go back down, but he soon realized this was a great excuse to be away from his father
