𝟓𝟕 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬; 𝐡𝐲𝐮𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐱

𝟲𝟲; 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲, 𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀

"Is this...goodbye?"

Hyunjin prays and prays for Felix to object as he stares into his eyes and waits for a response, not even a second later Felix gasped and instantaneously started shaking his head "No! No, Hyun, not at all" he chants as he steps closer to Hyunjin, closing the gap the ravenhead created between them when he asked that bitter question. Felix grabs his forearm gently pulling him closer to himself and wrapping the arm he's grabbed around his waist and Hyunjin obliges, holding him firmly and protectively by his waist as Felix's hands raise to rest against Hyunjin's chest "Never...It's just--" Felix sighs, not sure of what type of words he can use and explain his thoughts

"I'm fine you know" he starts with a deep breath, looking into Hyunjin's eyes and trying to find something negative, Once he doesn't he proceeds "And now that I'm recovered I can fend for myself...which was why our living situation happened in the first place, right?" there's hesitancy in the way Felix raises his brows and tucks in his bottom lip but it doesn't help the dropping of Hyunjin's heart, he felt scared enough but now that it's out in the open, that Felix doesn't need him anymore he could not have been more broken and terrified.

the ringing in his ears has started again and his breath is getting uneven but he tries his best to compose himself, not wanting to look like the train wreck he will become without the brunette in front of Felix. in the past he had weighed the idea, unwillingly, of losing Felix but now that the boy had recovered the fear had completely been lifted off of Hyunjin, Little was he aware that what awaited him was ten folds worse than what he had anticipated. well, at least he doesn't have to let go of Felix forever, at least he remains happy and healthy even if it's without—--Hyunjin was being dramatic, it was way too obvious and Felix could see behind his glazed eyes that the ravenette is thinking of all of the worst case scenarios in his head right now, of how everything would just crumble apart if Felix leaves him

"Hyunjin"

Felix called out, sternly and rigidly. aware of all the fear and trepidation behind those eyes and inside that mind "I'm not going anywhere, and I'm not leaving you" he mumbles with sincerity, running his hands through Hyunjin's long silky hair and cupping his face afterward "I know--I um, I was just thinking about--" Hyunjin trails off in the midst of the sentence and Felix knows he's too embarrassed to admit that he, in fact, was near death at this current minute just by the idea of Felix leaving him "Now that you're fine you..." Hyunjin halts again, looking away because he can't bear the brunette's beautiful eyes looking into his right now. after taking a moment to think what he wants to say Hyunjin gives up, he can't think of anything let alone form a coherent sentence and it makes Felix sigh

"Now that I'm fine I don't want to burden you anymore, I don't want to shackle you. You should go out and live your life. I'll be here, of course, you're my best friend but I want you to enjoy your accomplishments and live with freedom"

Hyunjin takes a second to acknowledge Felix's words before his facial expressions are turned into a questioning look everything in that sentence is so mind boggling that Hyunjin misses out on the pungent 'best friend' "Live my life? you are my life!" Hyunjin belts in incredulity that they were still holding onto this burden complex while the brunette on the other hand stared at him dumbfoundedly "Felix---you do realize that this entire thing I did, accepting the offer, is for you right?" it's a heavy revelation but Felix shouldn't even be surprised, it would be stupid if he was. Hyunjin has made it clear time and time again that all he does, live and breathe, is for Felix and Felix solely. still, the brunette can't help but look at him with disbelief all over his face

"w-why?" he mumbles under his breath while Hyunjin licks his lips and pulls himself together, relived at first that the reason Felix wants to pull away is not because he's tired of Hyunjin or that he's of no use anymore but because of his insecurities that Hyunjin would never mind helping vanish "because I love you, Felix! I want to provide you with a lifestyle that is comfortable! I want you to live in utmost glory and lead a life of pleasure, I want to be with you, live with you what would I do of this stupid house if not to share with you?" Hyunjin thrashes his arm around the magnificent place and points at it, pulling away from the brunette's body and wishing that he'd see clearly and understand
