   Chapter 40, Getting Ready For Prom
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
" I'm glad dad found you that night, he did the right thing talking to you. "
  ~ Scarlett's POV ~
    Today's the day! The sun is shining and I'm out of bed, it's exciting how today's prom day.
  Although prom doesn't start until four and end until eleven, but that gave me plenty of time to eat and get ready.
   I had my hair and nails done, my dress was already hung up in front of my closet door and my heels were next to the dress.
  Alana would be doing my makeup and then I would be going to prom with Jaden, he was going to pick me up in his black truck that makes him look like Nate Jacobs.
      I made my bed and grabbed my earphones along with my phone before slipping on my non-slip socks and walking out of room, we have trees in front of our house so it wasn't entirely impossible to not hear any awake birds chip.
   Sometimes it's annoying and other times it's soothing, it was soothing during the times I woke up and realized Jaden and I had broken up but annoying during the times I would be going to court for my custody battle.
     I've been through so much that I deserved a break even if many others believe I didn't, I shouldn't have to go through what I did but it happened anyways.
   When I finally reached the bottom step, Atlantis looked up from him building blocks and smiled at me.
   He's been able to say chopped up words now, it's really exciting whenever he calls for me.
   I walked over to him and sat beside him, he handed me his red car before grabbing his pink car and playing with me.
   "You're too cute for me."
  I cooed before kissing his cheek and standing up, Alana was just in the kitchen making his bottle.
  I walked into the kitchen and hugged her, she smiled at me and kissed my cheek before leaving the kitchen to feed my baby brother.
   "You're still doing my makeup, right?"
    I asked as I grabbed an apple and walked out of the kitchen to Alana, I had the tendencies to keep in check with everyone about what we're doing.
   I didn't like surprises anymore, it just makes me feel anxious and I really hate feeling anxious for no reason at all.
   "Yeah of course, Jaden's still picking you up by the way. He made sure to message me and your father."
  Alana answered and then explained, I nodded and walked upstairs.
  It was only 2:36 in the afternoon, I walked into the bathroom and turned on the water before grabbing all of my body essentials.
   I hopped in the shower and began an hour process of me shaving, exfoliating, washing and scrubbing any dirt off my body so that I would look amazing in my dress and heels.
   Then when I got out of my shower, I wrapped myself in a towel and walked out to the bedroom where I looked the door.
    I began to put some lotion on my body to make my skin smooth and smell really good before putting deodorant on, I put on my underclothes and then sprayed myself with perfume before grabbing my phone to look at the clock.
   It was already 3:48 in the afternoon, I took a deep breath and took my dress out of the plastic bag I had it in and unzipped the back.
    This would be the last prom that I would be attending, but I decided to push it down before I begin to get upset.
   As I pulled the dress from below my waist up, I smiled at my reflection.
   "You don't need to change yourself Scar.."
    I muttered to myself as I zipped the dress up and began to grab my heels, I could hear my dad walk down the stairs and talk to my mom.
  Once I finished with my heels, I began to work on my hair making sure it looked stunning.
   "Mom! I'm ready for my makeup!"
      I shouted from inside of my room as I admired myself, honestly it doesn't even matter what anyone says about your body anymore.
   At the end of the day, nobody feeds you nor do they eat for you so in reality they should have no say in anything.
      When my mom got upstairs and walked into my room after knocking, she gasped and smiled at the sight of me.
   She walked over as I made my way to the vanity and sat down, she kissed my cheek and told me I looked gorgeous before getting straight to work.
   "You look amazing honey..."
    Alana finally said breathlessly as she moved back, I looked in the mirror and smiled at my reflection once more.
  I heard knocking downstairs and then my father began to speak, I knew Jaden was here already and it wasn't long before they began to chat about baseball for hours and hours on end.
   " I'm glad dad found you that night, he did the right thing talking to you. "
      I said as I stood up from the chair and hugged my mom, she smiled at me and we walked downstairs together.
   Jaden noticed first and he smiled big, he walked over to me and we kissed once before hugging and then saying goodbye.
      We walked out of the house and got into his truck where he drove us to school, the prom was in the football field since it was big enough and I guess pretty enough for it.
    I was a little nervous but I pushed it away as Jaden parked his truck and got out, I got out of the car where Jaden held out his hand.
   We walked inside and then to the back where we walked out of the school and entered the dimly lit football field, music was playing and there were a bunch of people here already.
  Our friends were sat a few feet away from us so that was exciting, we walked over to them and spoke until the fun really began.
